Another Idea... This time for the site in general though, not just the forum.
Anyway...I was thinking, and maybe a good way to increase traffic to this site would be to expand it's content...I was thinking maybe as a CAPCOM fansite, with Killer7 SIN being one of the larger sections.
Even if it didn't expand all of Capcom's library (for reasons of funds, time, etc.), it could cover Capcom's games that are similar to Killer7...Dead Rising, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, etc.
It would be pretty labourous, but it might get more visitors, as well as forum members.

Re: Another Idea... IMO I think God Hand, Okami & Viewtiful Joe are more similar to Killer 7. Basically anything made by Clover studios.
(Art style,originality,eccentric)
What's weird is that K7 Sin had way more traffic back when it was hosted in tekcities. It actually had decent traffic of at least 80 to 100 unique visitors per day,but than again that was back in the day when K7 was still a new game.
(Back then K7 SIN actually received a lot of traffic from Japan. I'm kind of disappointed that K7 Sin doesn't net any hits from japan anymore.)
Quite embrassing if you ask me. This site probably gets the least traffic out of all the 3d action planet sites.
(Yes I've checked, I was shocked to see how weird & out there K7 SIN actually is when compared to the more orthodox sites hosted at gamespy.)
IMO the main problem isn't traffic. The biggest dilemma is how to keep returning visitors.
According to my site counter stats.
We have over 3000 unique visitors, but only 750 of them bother to come back.
My site counter tells me that most indivduals around the world immediatley leave the site once they reach the warning page.
It must have something to do with the heaven smile laugh.
(Either that or they're actually follwing what the warning page says. i doubt that though heh heh.)
K7 SIN pretty much breaks the first three rules of web design.
1. Never use sound or bgm.
2. Never clutter the screen with animated .gifs.
3. never do rules 1 & 2 at the same time.
Even though I know what I'm not suppose to do.
I do it anyway, because it helps recreate the chaotic feel of Killer 7.
K7 SIN just wouldn't have the same charm without it.

It's a sound plan my only objection is that I'm already busy enough just trying to get material up in english for The Silver Case & Flower, Sun, & Rain.
Those two games pretty much started the whole "Kill the Past" universe that was later borrowed by Killer 7. (Sloppily if I might add.)
Plus i'm not a fan of jack of all trades sites.
Why bother to go to a Killer 7 site that has a 2nd rate Residnet Evil section, when you can just visit a real Resident Evil website & forego K7 alltogether.
We would also need to recruit new writers, graphic & web designers to work on Dead Rising,RE,DMC,etc.
I may write & make good material for K7,but I doubt that I would do a good job covering other capcom games.
(To be honest capcom annoys me, Almost every game they make these days is a Resident Evil clone. I preferred the days when everything they made was a damn Street Fighter clone.
I tend to forget that Killer 7 was made by capcom. I see K7 as more of a pseudo extension of Suda 51's "Kill the past" universe.)
The main thing is this is a gamespy hosted site, and they specificly lent me space to make a website on Killer 7,but hey if we can some how gather the staff that would work on a project like that than I would ask gamespy for permission to to expand on the idea.
(Though I believe sites like that are pretty much against the purpose of free lance Gamespy sites.)
I like your idea,it's ambitious, & I can definitely picture it working.
If I were paying to host this site than I would most def try to expand K7 Sin into some violent themed capcom site, but as is since gamespy hosts this site for free,
I'm content with just letting this site be nothing more than an archive.
K7 Sin's web design style is more reminiscent of a Classic gaming hosted site anyway.

That's what I figured you'd say (except for some of where the trafiic was going/coming from). However, I was more or less pitching the idea not for the immediate future, but more distant.
The benefit to having information on game series, as opposed to a game that will likely not receive one, is that it could bring new people when a new game comes out, or just whenever someone needs to compare seperate games.
I completely understood the gamespy situation before I initially posted, as well as that you probably didn't have the the time and money to manage the idea. But if sometime in the future the idea could work, I think it would be worth it to see how cool this site could be. ^_^
BTW, congrats on the anniversary.

Killer 7 may not ever have a proper sequel, but it could have games that share the same basic themes & universe.
I'm not a Killer 7 fan, but I am a Suda 51 fan.
If Suda 51's "Heroes" has anything to do with the "Kill the Past" universe
than I will most likely add a domain for that game to the site.
(Killer 7 is loosely considered part of the "Kill the Past" series of games.)
The way I see it is
Silver Case is the originator of the Kill the past universe
Flower, Sun & Rain is a side story to the Kill the Past universe
Killer 7 is an alternate capcom reality of the Kill the Past universe
Silver Case block 25 is a direct sequel, that was unfortuantely only released as a cell phone game.
If capcom ever feels like gambling again, a side story like Flower, Sun & Rain for Killer 7 might happen some day.
In Silver Case,
Everything revolved around Toriko's Father & Uehera Camui (Some laughing man look alike.)
K7 revolves around Harman Smith & Kun Lan.

I understand. While I was thinking about it I might try to expand some day,but first we need to gather as much content as the K7 site.
(The way I see it is that we'll never get any where as a Killer 7 site, but K7 sin could do alright if it were a secondary site that was part of a bigger more mainstream site. K7 SIN
did originate from a Shin Megami Tensei fan site, but SMT isn't mainstream either.)
I have to admit though, I'm staying away from RE sites. Way too much competition & I'm just not interested in RE.
(I digged RE 4 like everybody else,but the series as a whole....nah.)
I've been planning to cover all these obscure adventure games from Japan, but that won't exactly gather traffic.
Hell back in the day I was planning to make a Ryu ga Gotoku (Yakuza) site in similar style to K7 SIN,but I felt it would be too much work since Ryu ga Gotoku has a pretty detailed story.
I guess the main problem is finding a mainstream game that I would actually work on.
(Only mainstream game that I can
think of is the MGS series.)
My plan since I first started this site was to work under some bigger
Killer 7 fan site that would eventually show up.
(I hate building lay outs & doing all that tedious webmaster ish.)
However that never happened.
This is the only K7 site that still lives or is known.

Is there any way I would be able to play the other games in the "Kill The Past" universe in english?

I doubt it, unless you can find the translations for the games somewhere on the 'webs.
I've been thinking of making a Capcom fansite too. Perhaps a blog tracking events related to Capcom? Maybe a webcomic? I get little sparks of inspiration such as these, but they die away because I realise that I'm too lazy to manage one by myself. But if I had a bunch of people with me, that could work out.

We should so all get together and make a webcomic about that. Or just a K7 one. Now all we need is a person that can draw more than stick figures...
KIRBY 7- 11-16-2006
Nah, the only development studio from capcom, that grasshopper had anything in common with was Clover studios, and not even they're with capcom any more.
Besides K7 SIN already has an affiliate that happens to be an all around Capcom fan site.
Why in the world would the world need another one. Especially since gamespy is already wasting money hosting the K7 SIN.
Is there any way I would be able to play the other games in the "Kill The Past" universe in english?
I'm working on it. The Silver Case & FSR websites are bit more complete.
I'm using various Silver Case websites as a guide for what to write in my site.
The only problem I need to compress & retranslate all the files that I found.
(I really need a Japanese translator to make things easier.)
Now all we need is a person that can draw more than stick figures...
Say what, I draw pretty damn good part-nah I just suck at shadowing.
I have the same indie art style as Killer 7.
I'd work on a comic, but I feel the website is more important so y'all are on your own with that.
I'm striving to have the most complete GHM universe (Kill the Past) web site out there.
