Balls to the walls Action flicks. I've always been a big fan of action films ever since I was little, watching way to violent for a kid my age movies(back in the early and mid-ninety's they didn't edit movies shown on tv like they do now).
I thought It would be good just to have a thread to talk about this type of film. Here are my favirit action films.
1.The Killer
2.Versus
3.Hard Boiled
4.Die Hard
5.Aragami
6.The Matrix
7.Last Man Standing
8.Kill Bill Volume1
9.Sudden Death
10.Terminator2:Judgement Day
Now I haven't seen the movie The Killer till just recently and up till then I thought all the gunfights in the Matrix Films, Die Hard Films, and a whole slew of other awesome moves were the best gunfight scenes out their. After I saw The Killer I realized that John Woo and Chow Yun make all these other action scenes I've seen in the past look pussie. I've never seen shootouts pumping out so much awesome so quickly, the way set pieces are blown to pieces by dual handguns with way to much power for pistols, and shotguns that are stronger than RPG's in other films. Plus the story for The killer and Hard Boiled are top notch, I was actually very interested in what would happen to the characters and I almost cried at the end of The Killer, its just a very well thought out movie.
Versus and Aragami are both awesome too, the way their fun and dramatic at the same time always satisfy's me.
So what action films do you guys really like?

Looking at your list, I'd recommend you check out Running Scared.

LISKER GETS 100 BILLION HERO POINTS!
I FUCKING LOVE RUNNIGN SCARED!
Everything about that movie kicks ass, the title is actually a criptic reference, the edting is unlike many films, the violence is wild and frantic, and Paul Walker is actually good. My God I love that movie. Everyone here MUST see Running Scared.
Yeah, Dale, I forgot to comment on your bad ass avatar. I saw both Hard Boiled and The Killer a few years ago, and I can't stop praising them. What great movies. But if you loved the action in those, man you gotta check out John Woo's "A Better Tomorrow" movies. These came before Killer and Hard Boiled, but man are they good. ABT 2 is actually better than ABT 1. And I think the best gun fight ever in John Woo history is the grande finale in ABT 2.
The Dragon Dynasty DVD label is also churing out some freaking sick ass action movies. So far there are 10 DVDs. Later in June they are releasing 4 Shaw brothers films. But so far there are films like Killzone, The Protector, Born to Fight, and the original Police Story. Plus in July Dragon Dynasty will be releasing the Ultimate version of Hard Boiled ever since Criterion stopped producing theirs.

Running Scared is an action thriller about a mobster who's given the task of disposing of a "dirty" gun. Throw in your crooked cops, competing mob families, and you got one hell of a trip.

Oh these lines are classic. I remember the scenes they appeared in...wow I love cheesy action films.
Have you guys ever watched any of the Stephen Seagul or Jean Claud Van Dam action films. They are so corny that their classic. Man I wish I could find a video of the "splits" scene in Time Cop, all I could think after watching the scene was PWNED.
I've seen parts of Total Recall but never the whole thing I'll haft to check it out sometime. I think this is the only Arnold movie I haven't seen.
Running Scared sounds right up my alley too, I'm gonna check it out.

I love Van Damme films, but his straight to video movies as of late are too bad to enjoy.

Yeah I know what you mean. His antics were more enjoyable with a budget behind them.

I don't care what any pompous asshole says, Hard Target's one of my favorite movies ever. It's got all the elements of an enjoyable action flick.

I loved Commando. That, and Predator are the cornerstones for the Arnold stereotype.
I can do a mean impression too...
