Bisita Q
I FINALLY saw this movie the other night! It's weird. That's all I really need to say. :P Necrophilia, mixed with breast milk, scat, a son who beats on his mom, strangers, heroin, pedophilia, incest, voyeurism, prostitution, and Takashi Miike...sounds like a winner to me. Thankfully it was. :D Laugh riot. Very entertaining. :P

I think it's just "Visitor Q" but yeah it's one fucked up movie . The kinda movie that's just too awkward to watch with others. Well.. too awkward to watch with family members, anyway . :?

I dont know either, but this is one of the funniest movies I've seen. And its one of the most fucked up movies I've seen. I got my copy from a virgin megastore that my buddy visited while on an out of state vacation

This is one of my favourite Miike movies. Visitor Q aka Love Cinema vol.6. One recurrent theme about all of Miike's films, even though he's not the writer but I suspect he puts emphasis on it anyway, is the decay of Japanese tradition and family values. This film takes everything that's wrong with Japanese society in Miike's eyes, enhances it tenfold and shoves it all into one single family. Teenage prostitution (well, actually it may or may not involve sex but the point is that the girls date much older and total strangers for money) for a few extra bucks to buy books and cds, the father's a workaholic to the extreme that he actually uses his private problems as material for an extreme documentary, the son doesn't respect his mother to the point of beating and enslaving her, while being bullied himself in school, while the father obviously doesn't care as long as it's not directly related to his job. Finally, the aging mother is obsessed with keeping her face young (the actress is the mangaka and writer of "Fatherfucker" Shungiku Ushida) all the while seeing another man who pays her so she can buy heroin to relieve herself from all the abuse. The "visitor" of the title is actually a famous Japanese director Kazushi Watanabe (Miike seems to like using directors as actors in a lot of his movies) who, by his mere presence -a stranger-, allows the family to look at themselves and one another to bring them back together again. Now, the family, instead of hurting themselves mutually, they hurt people around them! But what matters is, they're all together in the end. Incredibly, the ending manages to be happy, sincere and moving. This one in my opinion is a prime example of Takashi Miike's abilities as a filmmaker. He can be hit and miss sometimes, but I'm convinced that this guy knows cinema inside out. Only a school dropout could think of something like this (perhaps only a school dropout can lay the path for an academic, because he thinks freely. This is true when it comes to art). No, I'm not Tom Mes. lol.

Well when you search on IMDB, it's called "Bisita Q" The Japanese way of saying the name. A lot of Japanese films have the Japanese versions of the names in English...doesn't make a WHOLE lot of sense, but still. :P My friend actually brought it over. He said this comic shop around here got a copy. I was wondering when they'd get anymore Asian films again. For the longest time it was all obscure horror films, nunsploitation (hehe), zombies and the like. I guess they finally did! :) They're sometimes a bit overpriced so I tend to look around for a good price. WHAT!?!? This isn't amazing! It's S%@T!!!!! ONe of my FAVORITE lines. :P

My favorite scene is when the dad is fucking the corpse.. man I've never laughed so hard in my life. I think it was the noises he made.. the whole scene was just so bizarre

Lol, detailed sound design for you.

Jedilink- 09-23-2007

Yeah I like the fact that him just having sex made weird sounds. Just the sex aspect was noisy. :P And then.....poop. HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD!!!!!!

This movie was a laugh-fest for me, the father of the family started going nuts!!! I heard the movie was on a low budget, even the breast milk was real (?) well she was a pregnant woman. Yeah some people have studied the movie for meaning, I would like to feast my eyes on it when I get the chance.

Dalemushashi- 01-20-2008

This was my favorite Miike film for awhile but I just saw Dead or Alive and now that's my favorite.

PhasE- 01-21-2008

Dead or Alive, you mean the one that stars "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash? Everyone else is obselete.
