BLAME!
BLAME! is a manga by Tsutomu Nihei about a man named Killy who wanders through a GIGANTIC, mazelike megastructure in search of something called a Net Terminal Gene. The story isn't spoon fed to you at all and is very open ended, it's also pretty damn morbid. The manga's well known for it's amazing architecture, unique art, and lonely, almost freaky atmosphere. Oh man, the atmosphere is just amazing, it's very much like Silent Hill or Baroque in it's feeling of despair and solitude. Plus, the fight scenes kick ass, I highly reccomend reading this (ignore the OVA, though).

I love Blame! and also Noise. I've also checked out huh-- Biomega and Biosphere Engineer. But I think that all of these are one-shots (maybe Biomega's not) that happen in the Blame! universe. Great visuals, very rough but real powerful. Dig it.

BLAME! is fantastic, but I haven't been up to date on my readings. I'm kind of ashamed.

Yeah, I'm a fan of blame and most of Nihei's other work as well. If anyone needs it this site has basically all his work for download:http://controlling-authority.net/manga/

Heeen also has a good Blame! forum with links to other fansites in a variety of languages, though I haven't joined it. Nihei has some other good stuff too, I've read NOiSE and am following Biomega now, which is slooooooow as Berserk. Maybe moreso.

^ Speaking of Biomega, a new chapter is out http://www.raw-paradise.com/ Can't really tell what's going on without a translation though.
