Blood+ One Night Kiss
Ok, gotta mention from the get go that I have never seen the anime, so cannot comment in that respect. I've only just played it for 30 mins through a tutorial of sorts, but here are my impressions so far. The title screen appears as: New Game Continue Option Special (I can view characters here) Selecting New Game gives you a choice of either Story or Action Mode. I jumped straight into the latter. Bar these selections, all text is Japanese, as is all voice acting. I was expecting this, but it makes things very difficult. >_< I've basically blagged my way to the tutorial (not difficult, you just have to interact with everything in the first room - Icons appeared on the various things I had to interact with). Anyway, the tutorial ran me through the process of combat. Controls are as follows: L analog - move R analog - rotates camera Circle button - action X button - jump Square button - attack Triangle button - triggers attack sequenece (during battle) L 1 - block L 2 - view map R 3 - evasive move (during battle) Combat fixes the camera on to your enemy and has you moving around it as the centre. You can perform a chained slash attack by hitting square repeatedly, and jumping up and hitting attack sees you strike your sword downwards. If you hit square three times mid-jump then you can unleash a powerful downward stroke on whoever is beneath you. The tutorial will not let you progress until you perform each of these things including dodging attacks, quick recovery etc.. Anyway, a gauge builds up until the enemy is weakened, at which point a command attack comes into play. Hitting the triangle button instigates a button command attack sequence, a little video is played before you have to tap buttons successively inorder to build this blood gauge on your sword. There is a time limit to it (usually ten secs) but it's relatively easy. Pull it off and you get to see 'em crystallize and crumble. Beyond that first tutorial and a few cutscenes I got to play the second character, the dude with the elvis hair (forgive me, I don't know his name). Now if you've seen the trailers this guy has a shotgun as his weapon, and it seems he controls similarly to the first character (with no chained attack during battles, but just the gun and a simple kick attack). Anyway, my game ended here because I died. I'll post some more impressions later. It's weird being in a game that resembles Killer7 yet has "free" movement controls.

Sorry. I should've posted this in the Grasshopper games section in the thread I started. >_< I'm a sleepy idiot. Do your magic and merge the two if you like mods.

Gah, I'm stuck and it's starting to get a little tiresome. I have to go to work now, but I'll post up some impressions later tonight.

Ok, to answer you Sal (sorry about the slow response) the music is pretty damn good. Some tunes are used too much in certain places and it's nowhere near as varied as K7's soundtrack, but I still enjoy it. There are some nice sound effects too. Since I can't follow the story, it's a little boring every time a cut scene begins. And the constant interaction with environments is starting to grate. I'm stuck for this very reason. My playing is very much a case of trial and error as I wade my way through Japanese text. Stuff like the title screens all have a very strong GHM/K7 feel to them, and look the business, but so far it's not a patch on K7.
