Devil May Cry anime in the works It's true - Dante will be starring in an anime based on the Devil May Cry games, as revealed on the official teaser site here.
The 12-episode show will be produced by Madhouse, a studio responsible for many, many titles, including the upcoming Death Note. It will reveal the day-to-day life of Dante -- what exactly that means, I'm not sure.

I can already hear True grave squealing.
True Grave- 09-25-2006
Well I was hyped to read in this threads title that a DMC anime is in the works, but shouldnt it already have been done? Like during the popularity that started once DMC2 came out? Then we could have had somethign to fall back on instead of that travesty?
BUt what I'm really hyped about is how Madhouse is handling it.
They are responsible for the awsome:
GUNGRAVE ANIME SERIES! YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
^ Over the top on purpose, I assure you.

Here's a trailer.

Looks aight. Than again I'm not much of a fan of Devil May Cry in the first place.
As usual Youtube posters say the darndest things.
Oh great if its the same people that mad the Gungrave anime, its prolly going to suck. Hopefully not, the story line sucked compared to the game. Anyway can't wait to see this hopefully they won't screw it up.
That's hilarious considering that the Anime actually had a story line where as the game just has an excuse for you to kick some ass.
True Grave- 05-06-2007
Gungrave is great for many reasons, this being one. The mission objectives are exactly the same for all missions in both games:
KICK THEIR ASS.
And thats really all you need (and infinte ammo, which reminds me of hte original gingrave mag ads with this tagline "Infinte ammo, because reloading takes too long.")

Those are the kinds of games that I prefer most.
I agree, that's all you really need for a video game,
but I'm talking about the anime.
(I'm guessing you haven't seen the entire series yet. It's one of those shows where you need to see every single episode in it's entirety.)
The Gungrave anime was so well written that you couldn't even tell that it originally came from a video game.
More character development happens in one episode
(The episode when Randy gets assassinated by Bunji Kugashira.)
than a 50 hour Final Fantasy game.
Gungrave the anime was a true classic, the story for Gungrave on the other hand.
(More specificly the sequel "Overdose") has some of the most horrible writing I've ever seen.
Overdose had one of the lamest plot twists ever.
What was up with that lil' blonde kid actually being a mole or what ever the hell he was supposed to be.
(I can't remember, the writing was so sloppy & random.)
Which is why I believe that the man who wrote the Gungrave anime is a genius.
Because he took a shitty video game story & turned it into a true mobster epic.
It's a sad shame that Gun Grave often gets over shadowed by Trigun.
True Grave- 05-12-2007
Woah, you're saying that MOI hasn't seen every second of the Gungrave Anime?
No offense, but you're outta ya damn mind bro!
Of course I have. Shit actually made me teary! Mainly because it was one of the best mobster stories I've ever read/seen.
I classify it straight up as a drama. But most folks that I know who like anime thought it was going to be an action piece. While the action is great, its still in small doses.
I loved Bunji in the anime. They reall developed his character well. Right up to the end. And speaking of ends, Gungrave and Cowboy Bebop IMO have the best endings in any anime series. And thats it.
Nightow really did a graet job creating Gungrave. And yeah I will agree that the games aren't fully developed stories, like the anime. But I mean look, they tried that with GGOD, and look what happened? Yeah a lame ass plot with lame twists.
I feel that the anime was Nightow's way to fully flesh out the game's plot. Especailly since it takes place in the past, present and future of the game's plot.
And Trigun does overshadow GG. The manga is almost done here in America, so I'll finally get to see how it all ends. Even though the plot itself still confuses me.

I think this looks kinda cool. I'll have to maybe check it out when it comes out over here. :)

Exactly what I mean.
That's why this comment by the youtuber is so retarded IMO.

I can't understand the story to Trigun either.
I don't think I ever will, since I hated that show.
What was the point of it?
That Vash fag spend his whole life being a pacifist, but he finally grows out of that & kills his brother in the last episode.
Both Vash & his bro are actually plants in humanoid form.
(WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Sal- 05-18-2007
damn you spoiled trigun to me :P
True Grave- 05-18-2007
Yeah Trigun is just way to complicated in unnecessary ways.
I still like it, but I rather not know stuff like Nicholas and the Eye of Michael is actually a group of religious fanatics who worship Knives. LAME! LAME AS FUCK!
Why can't they be some anti-demon group? Something along those lines?
And Vash is a queer. But supposidly he was a mass murderer. He stopped during the Trigun main storyline because of that ish with REM.
But the crazy ass assassins were sweet.
ConSmithsAngel- 05-18-2007
I couldn't stand Trigun, hell, I couldn't even see one episode of it without getting bored. Don't get me started with Bleach either.I was confused as fuck!!!
Sal- 05-19-2007
bleach? lol damn it!
how many episodes it got till today? over 50? 100?
I cant stand endless anime, with so many zero plot episodes. Often the most stuff doesnt even matter at the end, so why should I watch it?
ConSmithsAngel- 05-21-2007
My friends call me an anime freak (to a certain extent)
I love the classic animes I grew up on, not some of this crap now-a-days.I remember a time when I could sit down to watch TV and I could watch it for hours on end, until they took away my favorite animes then I switched to wasting my time with Video Games.... the current anime I watch now is Gokusen since it doesn't suck ass like alot of animes now a days *cough* Naruto!
I admit I used to like Inuyasha for maybe 2 or 3 seasons. After that....it really wasn't worth it....
Dalemushashi- 05-22-2007
Why does everyone insist on hating on animes based of the shitty american dub. :x Alright if the only version of Naruto or Bleach you've seen is the crappy funmation dubs then you have know clue what your talking about when you call it crap.
Original manga>Japanese version of anime>American dub of anime
All I here is people hating on One Piece as a whole, after all they have seen is the funmation version. Seriosly this shit pisses me off, read the manga before you judge.
Sal- 05-22-2007
Its hard these days to find average -> good anime to watch. anyway
subtitled anime for me only :P
