Hey, I love One Piece! Probably one of the best stories I've read, don't get me wrong... I only don't like Naruto becuase of the too many cliched characters, I think the story is original, if only the characters were'nt too annoying, and I don't like bleach becuase it was just so confusing for me,if I even missed one episode, it was WTF! This has nothing to do with american dubs.

Dalemushashi- 05-22-2007

Alright my bad.

Jedilink- 05-29-2007

Hmmm...everyone here seems to like all kinds of anime. I tend to stick with more mature fare. Not that lighthearted, kiddie stuff is always bad, but I tend to stick with more mature things. Although I DO like Excel Saga. That was pretty funny. Great now I want to go watch Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex!!! :P Haha! :D

Alright if the only version of Naruto or Bleach you've seen is the crappy funmation dubs then you have know clue what your talking about when you call it crap. Has nothing to do with the dubs IMO. I just can't stand "Shonen" anime. Way too formulaic for my taste. Naruto feels like Dragon Ball Z for the new generation. I've heard much hype for Naruto,Bleach, & Full Metal Alchemist only to get disappointed by every single one of them. (Although FMA does have it's moments. I like that one episode when Lust manipulated some punk & killed his entire village.) English dubs aren't that bad. (Except One Piece. Sanji the most mis casted voice ever.) Would y'all honestly prefer Metal Gear Solid in Japanese? Or how bout Killer 7, half of the delivery & dialogue wouldn't make sense if it weren't voiced in English. (Too many puns,American culture references & the like. Granted Killer 7 also made a shit load of Japanese culture references. Though that had more to do with the directing style, scenery & the character designs than the actual dialgoue.) Interestingly enough Killer 7 never did have a Japanese track. (It's weird as hell seeing Sundance speak in English in those K7 beta trailers.) The only time I can't stand an English dub is when the property in question happens to be embed with heavy Japanese elements & culture. Ryu Ga Gotoku (Be like a Dragon) which is most commonly known in the west as "Yakuza" (What a dumbass title, You don't even control a Yakuza.) being the prime example. It annoys me how "off" all the voices are. Instead of having the personalities that they had in the Japanese version they all end up sounding like wannabe stereotypical bad asses. Yakuza was like the Killer 7 comic book all over again. Where everybody acted angry & pissed off, because the (writers) think it makes them come off more badass. Look at how calm Fukushima, Harman, Mask & Garcian are in the game, & compare that to how retarded they act in the comic. Mask was the only "mad" individual that was okay, although I still liked the Mask from the game more, because it's hilarious as hell seeing a big hulking Mexican guy walking around with the voice of a 16 yr. old. "I'm not a monster! It's only a mask." Hmmm...everyone here seems to like all kinds of anime. I tend to stick with more mature fare. Same here, but I'm also into comedies like Ranma 1/2 (1st two seasons & the OVAS are Pure classic), Cromartie High (Even more random than Family Guy, Friggin' Hirai Ken & Freddie from Queen are in this anime.), & The Ping Pong Club (Potty humour at it's finest.) BTW most animes aren't that mature in the first place. The only current ones I can think of are Ghost in the Shell, & Gungrave. Hellsing is cool & all, but the story is dumb as fuck. (The story for the manga is a lil' bit better, but still most of the dialogue is nothing more than filler. It's only interesting whenever ALucard opens his mouth because he's always saying something badass like calling tha Nazi's a bunch of boy scouts.) Great now I want to go watch Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex!!! Razz WTF!!! You haven't seen GITS SAC yet!!!!!? The 2nd season was better anyway, but still Motoko had a messed up wardrobe in the first season. (Not that I'm complaining. A T-back leotard & knee high boots whoo hoo, & she had the as for it too. Soft core porn, philosophy, politics & cyberpunk all rolled into one package. No wonder GITS is the best.)

The Ping Pong Club (Potty humour at it's finest.) woah someone remembering PPC, nice :D I love it, it has some similarities with Ebichu. But still, my beloved and in my opinion best Sport-Anime ( also the funniest ) is SLAM DUNK! 101 Episodes of pure fun. Sakuragi is the best haha I am so old <.< I do hate when ppl judge anime by style only. " oh its funny but looks like crap " ... damn kidz!

Jedilink- 06-18-2007

I have most of GITS SAC's first season. Up to volume 5 anyway. Since the 6th one was a couple dollars more and one episode shorter I never bought it...now I can't find it anywhere! :'( And I'm not going to start watching the second season if I haven't seen all of the first one yet! But yeah, I LOOOOOOOVE that show. One of my top favorites ever I'd say. Most serious shows I like are animes and most silly stuff is live action (even though I still love Aqua Teen Hunger Force and South Park).

ConSmithsAngel- 06-22-2007

My friend from school let me borrow her Gokusen(Anime) DVDs,and my bro scanned them,Damn, what are the odds of someone owning one of your favorite animes that happen to be rare, and they're your friend no less!

True Grave- 11-24-2007

I randomly heard that the DMC anime is actually pretty good! Nice animation, and it has gore! Can't wait to see the DVDs hit stores!

Kroni- 11-24-2007

I got to episode 6 before I stoppet watching. I'm a DMC fan and all, but the anime just sucked. The fight scenes are boring as hell, Dante has the personality of my dead goldfish, that annoying loli put there for fanservice hogs too much screentime (and doesn't belong in DMC anyway) and did I mention Dante sucked? Meh, I wasn't impressed, but others were. I'll stick to the DMC3 manga, that was pure awesome.

Lisker- 11-25-2007

I saw the first DMC3 manga in the store, completely unexpected, so I got it, I guess there's 3 in total, but the last one isn't out I heard. Not sure if that means it's just not been translated yet or it doesn't exist. Meaning it's been cancelled or something.

True Grave- 12-03-2007

Yeah I don't know how many there are, but I keep hearing its good. Along with the novels, I guess capcom is trying to explain the story. Heh, my question is why? Who care? Dante kills demons because they killed his mom and corrupted his bro. Here is a game that needs a basic plot, leaves more time for blood-letting.

Lisker- 12-03-2007

I doubt it's even an official part of the story, so I don't know how much it really contributes to it.

Kitano Smith- 12-05-2007

I've heard that this anime follows the current trend of fantastic and intriguing first episode (the pilot syndrome: high production values, great art, flawless, movie-quality animation, etc.), only to suck itself into a vortex of bland and cheap right from the second one. Is it true?

Lisker- 12-05-2007

I didn't realize there were series that do that. Then I guess that the second episode shows how a series like that really is.

Kitano Smith- 12-05-2007

Yeah, but it kinda makes sense, even in live action; the first episode is supposed to sell the series and pull you in. By the second episode, you're supposed to be hooked. I'm usually sceptic.
