Pretty coolness. The comic isn't as good as the game...but at least it's easier to follow. Even wthout knowledge of the game :P

KIRBY 7- 04-04-2006

Ah man another issue already,I still haven't gotten around to uploading the other k7 comic to the website yet. Eww Julia Kisugi looks mad ugly in the comic. She was actually kinda sexy in the game. Julia had that whole sexy OL (office lady) vibe going on. Go, Kevin, put on a shirt before I hurt you. Kevin's gay anyway. Nah really he is homosexual. Pretty coolness. The comic isn't as good as the game...but at least it's easier to follow. Even wthout knowledge of the game :P That's because the story in the comic doesn't really do a good job of telling the story from the game. Not that I was expecting them too,but man I really don't like how they make the japanese u.n. party look like some fascist bastards. (They were fascist in the game as well, but at least Fukushima & Matsuken came off as inteligent rather than a bunch of morons living in the past, screaming about god.) Once again I think they fell short on the story. In the game during the meeting with Fukushima they were discussing about how Japan as a country is too weak to compete in the world of politics. Fukushima even goes as far to claim that politicians are mere actors. (Which in Japan it's not too far off from the truth.) Not once did Fukushima ever come off as some lunatic. He was just some guy that was sick & tired of Japan ridng on the U.S.A's nuts all the time. Here's an excerpt of the dialogue from the K7 SIN website. Julia:We've been expecting you. If you will, right this way please. Mr. Fukushima is waiting for you inside. Fukushima:I always wanted to be a tea master,it's one of the reasons I chose this profession. Harman:Which profession might that be? Fukushima:Hahaha You're an interesting man,and you ask a very difficult question. Perhaps it's a sense of humor that only comes from someone who lives life on the edge. I wanted to become a politician who could be a true leader, but the world of politics was like a stage where people only acted. They were merely actors playing the politician. Harman:Did you ever think of becoming an actor? Fukushima:Well,it just so happened I got a call from the government asking me if I wanted to become an architect. Harman:You mean,to design and devise? Fukushima:Yes,I took the offer with delight. Harman:Is that the only thing you do,Mr. Fukushima, the founder? -Fukushima summons Julia into the room.- Fukushima:Could you bring us some refreshments? Woman:Certainly. Fuk ushima:It 's a really old story. Union 7, a group made up of seven young men, drew up the Yakumo Party Cabinet Policy . The heat of factional politics eventually broke down the Union 7. It was like a warm welcome in the world of politics. It became clear to me then, this country didn't have what it took to compete with the rest of the world. -Julia serves the two gentlemen.- Harman:It must be wonderful to have such a bright secretary. Fukushima:Not as bright as you, Mr. Smith. -Julia draws a gun- Fukushima:Thank yo.. Fukushima sounded more like a revolutionary. Rather than a dellusional idiot The comic however makes Fukushima a stereotypical raving maniac bent on the destruction of the United States. (It was actually Matsuken that wanted to destroy the U.S..because the U.S. delayed the launch of the "fireworks" when the nulcear missles were launched toward Japan by the "eastern threat".) What's even worse is the formation of the Union 7. In the comic they all happen to be survivors of Iwo Jima. Yeah that's realistic *sarcasm* a bunch of military soldiers/useless grunts formed Japans leading political cabinet party. In the game the Union 7 were composed of seven individuals that defected from the Liberal party to create the Yakumo doctrine. The Union 7 however were disolved before the game even started, because they weren't strong enough contenders in the game of politics. Hence Fukushima's disdain for Japan, and why he feels it's his responsibility to get Japan out of the economic & political decline that japan is in. The comic makes Jean Depaul out to be yet another "Rising Wind" operative that wants to destroy the United states. Jean Depaul is actually a secret agent hired by a 3rd party that is totaly unrealated to both Japan & the USA. He was to interfere with the meeting between Japan & the U.S. However his intervention was uneeded, because the U.S. were planning to eliminate the Japanese anyway. It kind of saddens moi how a game with such a detailed political plot that replicates the complexities of real life politics can easily be turned into another straight forward nazi like fascist tale of us v.s them. Good v.s Evil. IMO there were no good guys in Killer 7. I just hope that people don't think that the comic is an accurate portrayal of the events that happened in the game. So far the story straight up sucks. Seems like the writer looks at everything at face value a lil' too much. It lacks the "post modern" vibe from it. Course that is the reason why the comic is easier to understand, but at the same time the story is also of lower quality.

Jedilink- 04-05-2006

Well, actually when I saw in the instruction booklet that they would be making a comic, I thought it wouldn't be about the game. I mean the Killer 7 have been around for quite a while and so I thought it would be about other things they've done. I thought they'd leave the story of the game as is. I guess not. Oh well. I think they still hould've at least somewhat done the crazy art style though...THAT woulda really been cool! :D

Akushitsu- 04-30-2006

...so has anybody heard anything about issue #3? o.O I haven't seen any announcements for it anywhere. Is it even coming out this month? This is the last day of April, after all. ...or maybe it's out and I just missed it somewhere. I'll stop by my comic book store (although on their website it's not listed) sometime before Anime Central.

Jedilink- 05-01-2006

Well I've seen the cover of the third one. IT has Ulmeyda on the front! :P He's such a dork but I love that guy, he's pretty funny. I think (if I'm remembering correctly) the cover is Ulmeyda on top of the buildings like he was when he was doing the news broadcast. Something like that. But yeah I've GOT to get those issues! There's not a comic shop here in my town so I need to find one so I can get those comics!!!!!!!!

I'll stop by my comic book store (although on their website it's not listed) sometime before Anime Central. What's Anime central? Is that an online store or an anime convention? Geah I was wondering why you haven't uploaded Issue #3 yet. (BTW keep 'em coming.) Here's the K7 SIN link for the comic gallery. Gallery main http://www.killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/gallery.htm Comic gallery main http://www.killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/comic.htm Well, actually when I saw in the instruction booklet that they would be making a comic, I thought it wouldn't be about the game. Hah part-nah that sounds pretty cool, course they couldn't have gone with that angle since the killer 7 aren't exactly the killer 7 by the end of the game. (EDIT: Ahh wait a minute I get it,you're referring to their past hits.) It's understandable that they're re telling the story, not many individuals understood it in the first place. I just wish they didn't take so many liberties with it. The Rising Wind party sucks. They remind me of some saturday morning cartoon villain crew. The game was so much ILLer the Japanese u.n. party some what resembeled the Yakuza. (Especially Matsuken)

Akushitsu- 05-01-2006

Anime Central is an anime convention in Rosemont, IL. I'm going as Dan Smith and my friend is going as Ayame Blackburn. No one will recognize us and it'll be AWESOME. I'll post pictures of the insanity (if anyone wants them) when I come back next week. And thanks for the links. ^_^ Thanks for hosting them, too. As long as I keep getting the comics, I'll keep scanning them. Speaking of the promo comic, do you know of anyone that has the second installment of that (part 2)? It was only given away at some comic book convention, I hear.

Akushitsu- 05-09-2006

#3 is out...tomorrow! Why it's out late, I'm not sure. They're just a bunch of slackers, I guess. I'll be going into the city over the weekend to get it (I need to see a relative anyway) and...I'll scan it...Saturday/Sunday/Monday. Just expect it sometime before the end of the century. >.>

Jedilink- 05-10-2006

I went to the comic shop I know of in Bloomington after class was over. I go there because they have some asian films sometimes and stuff but today I was going to look for the Killer 7 comics but OF COURSE the store was closed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh!!! Pooheads!!!!!!! Well, I'll find em eventually!!!!! :D

Angel- 05-10-2006

Uwaaa~ I can't them here yet (which really sucks) and my mom most probably won't let me order it online... maybe I can get it from my friend in America... Oh yeah, Akushitsu, I like, totally haven't replied to your question yet!! I'm sooo sorrry! *bows down in apology* To answer your question, it was made for me by another forumer from the Cloud x Aerith forums, Luna-Nayru. She kicks ass and she's sooo nice to boot! ^_^ The actual picture I found on an oekaki board for Killer7 while browsing Japanese Killer7 sites. You can view the actual piccie here: http://usera.imagecave.com/Broken_Wingz/050806.gif

Akushitsu- 05-10-2006

Yay! Thanks Angel! I sort of forgot I even asked that question. o.O I was wondering because I thought I'd browsed every K7 Japanese site in existence. Maybe I skipped over it somewhere? Why can't you get them where you're from? Are they just not selling them there? o.x

True Grave- 05-13-2006

I just picked up issues #2, and #3. And I must say the comic is rounding out nicely. The entire sunset episode from the game is wrapped up in those two issues. The start of Cloudman is at the end of issue #3.

Jedilink- 05-14-2006

So I went in the other day to my comic shop and he said they don't carry any copies of it!!!!! NNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Well he said he'd look into it and order some copies if I want em so YAY!!!!! :D I can't wait to FINALL have some actual copies of it already! I just gotta get anything about Killer7 I can!!! OH I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They shoul make a bunch of Killer7 shirts!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Akushitsu- 05-14-2006

There's a K7 shirt on eBay, but it sucks. XD It's XL, too. There was this really cool one up, Medium-sized, but it's gone now. O.o Ah well. You can always...make your own? I'm going into the city in like...twenty minutes, so I'll scan issue #3 when I get back tonight. Well, unless Jedilink has the power too. *shrug*
