The strike is linked to the Yakumo, a world-wide conspiracy responsible for a plague of zombie terrorists known as “Heaven’s Smiles”. The fate of millions of people hangs in the balance. http://www.devilsdue.net/killer7/p2000_articleid/127/p2000_page/2 Issue # 2 Julia Kisugi,Maske De Smith, and Heaven Smiles are on the cover. Writer: Arvid Nelson Artist: Bong Dazo (El Dazo) Inker: n/a Cover: Sanford Greene Color: B&W Pages: 32 Format: Standard Comic Price: $2.95 Diamond Order#: tba UPC# 882142-00116-00201 The killer 7 are hired to assassinate Japanese politician Toru Fukushima after a horrific attack on a nuclear arms elimination treaty. They track their target to a Japanese restaurant on the outskirts of Washington, DC, only to find that two other killers have been hired to do the job -- and they don’t appreciate competition! Will the killer 7 reach their target on time, and why do so many people want Fukushima dead? ------ My thoughts: Damn, the cat that draws the covers has mad style. I just hope that the actual comics don't end up looking like that horrid K7 comic from the san diego expo. The story seems to closely follow the game. My only objection is the role they have the Yakumo (Japanese U.N. party) play. Why the hell would the Yakumo want to destroy Japan, when Japan is the very same country that they're trying to protect. For that matter how would the Yakumo even have access to nukes, when their organization happens to be based in Japan. It's all good though,it's not like Killer 7 has the best narrative in the world. So it's expected to see oversights of this magnititude. K7 is more of a collection of themes,& ideas rather than an actual fable anyway. I'm planning to cop a copy of these books,as long as the actual content of the comics look as ILL as the covers. Come on these are the same cats that made the dopeass Darkstalkers & Streetfighter comics, can't see how they could go wrong with K7. (Except for probably story.) I can't even find it in the U.S. Comic books these days have taken a backseat to manga. In book stores you'll see whole libraries full of manga, but only a lil' stand for comics. (I remember when I was growing up it was the other way around.) On the plus side, with the rising surge of popularity with manga,I can finally get my hands on some english translated Golgo 13 comics. http://store.viz.com/browse/GOLGO13/BOOKS/s.zl1lhsdy The baddest badass hitman on the planet. G-13 has a poltically motivated plot that's even more complex than Killer 7. (He also bangs at least three chicks in each volume.) The best place to look for the Killer 7 comics is online, where I don't know. They sell some at devilsdue.net http://www.devil-dealer.bigstep.com/category.html?UCIDs=1324665 However they're only selling the crappy promo comic that they were handing out when K7 was first released.

If I could remember the link, I'd show you guys so you don't claim that I'm...crazy or something. >.>; Actually that sounds perfectly logical. I'm been getting an influx of e-mails asking about where toget the comic. wooyeah. got the first copy. £2.15 in england, at worlds apart. monthly. nice. So how is it? If you don't mind could you at least scan a page or two? (I wanna see the art.)

KillerPenguin- 02-23-2006

(Course there's a special reason for that, that gets revealed at the Union Hotel.) An Umbrella truck...where they at Raccoon city hah hah.

Akushitsu- 03-16-2006

If you noticed Kaede was wearing shoes on the cover of the comic...then did you also notice she's also wearing shoes in the instruction booklet? ^_^; ...anyway, I had to order the comic off eBay since I live in the middle of nowhere. The comic book store closest to me (about...two hours away) was never going to get the five copies that they ordered, or something. (I should know, I think I called them every two days asking, 'OMG DO YOU HAVE IT!?') Ho-ray for the Internet. So I'm going to scan it...tomorrow. I'm also going to get the next one when it comes out (like...next week, wee! ...probably off eBay. Sigh.) and will gladly scan all the rest from here on out. I'll put a link up sometime tomorrow when I get it done.

KIRBY 7- 03-19-2006

This is the second time that you contributed material that I deem praise worthy. I hereby proclaim thy the GOD KILLER...heh heh. I'll host these scans up at the gallery or merc page whenever I get a chance to update. (Right now I've been looking for a permanet server to host K7 SIN.) Anyway the art looks like it was drawn by the same man who drew the promo comic. (Sad shame I would've preferred the cover artist, since his work captures the noir look well.) The story felt way too simplified when compared to the events of the actual game. I cringe when I saw that they automatically came to the conclusion that the attack was initiated by a fascist Japanese party called the "Rising Wind". Part of what makes Killer 7 so intense is the fact that the U.S.A. & Japan have no idea where the attack was coming from. It's this very anonymity & ambiguous nature of the attacks that drives everybody into pandemonium not unlike the craze that happenend several years ago during 9/11. Due to this very anxiety, the relationship between U.S.A. & Japan falls apart as the U.S.A. tries to reap the benifits of a destabilized Japan. Whereas Japan tries to stay afloat,by any means necessary. Whether it be good or bad. At times I also feel that they took the dialogue from the game a lilttle too literally. EX. Rising wind, everytime I read that I only think of flatulence. In Killer 7 Garcian makes a comment about the increasing Japanese hostility with mills. Where he says "Terroism using wind most likely." Garcian was actually alluding to a feeble attack that the Japanese made during WW II,where they utilized wind to enact an attack in the form of hot air ballons. In other words he didn't take the Japanese seriously until Milss mentioned "Matsuken". The other part that I thought was quite funny is when Garcian cruises back to to his trailer house, and hears Mills sercret code. It's comical in my eyes, because it looks like the scene is taken out of context. Even to the point of bolding out Republic party. Aight enough of my bitching, the overall the comic looks pretty decent wish I could get a hold of some copies. The ILLest part of the comic has to be when Iwazaru drops in to relay his vague intel. Though I think I'll stick with Golgo 13 as his comics have better writing & artwork. It's all good though at least Samantha looking pretty fly. . The face isn't that great, but the body is bangin'. Though imagined her being more of a bitch. I remember in the game she always had that "I don't give a fuck" vibe going on.
