Does anyone else...

I dislike a ot of anime too. Inuyasha, witch hunter Robin, all .Hack, s-CRY-ed, Evangelion, etc. OH GOD, THANK YOU. Inuyasha. I hate Inuyasha with a fiery passion in my soul. I recently went out with a couple of family friends, and they have two daughters, both under 11. I know that anime is generally more popular with that demographic, so I tried to make small talk and asked, "So, do you like anime?" And they both pipe up, "INUYASHA!" Needless to say, I pretty much avoided the topic of anime. I reckon Evangelion was overrated. Mecha anime? Yes. Deep and philisophical? No. Anyone could churn out half the stuff that Evangelion put out. I originally liked Naruto, just because I thought, hey, ninjas. Sounds ok. I started getting tired of it at Chapter 100 or so and finally gave up at around 200. Also Sasuke = Sephiroth YES. Which would explain why my girlfriend likes him so much.

I have to agree with the topic, to the point where I'm ashamed to tell anyone that there are any anime I like, I mean Cowboy Bebop and Monster are great, but all people think of when they hear 'anime' is that crap that makes up 99% of the market.

After Gungrave, Samurai Champloo, and Cromartie High, I've actually stopped paying attention to anime. Most of it now is udder crap, and follows a static stereotypical style now. (I love alliteration). Trinity Blood is the only real recent anime I'm following, but I've got the entire thing already downloaded, and I'm not really watching it. I'v eseen the first two episodes and thats it. It basically another version of Hellsing. That is a pretty sweet anime, I can't wait for the DVDs to hit the US. But other than that I've not done much with anime. I'm interested in Gun X Sword, but I can't stand paying close to $30 for one DVD. (Even though I download, I still prefer owning the DVD copy). Ahh, dont get me started on Naruto. First all, the VO is really really bad. Some characters are OK, pulling off stereotypes well, but Naruto himself is unbearable. I'd rather shove meat in my ears, and let camel spiders chew through my head. So since when to ninja's wear orange? The brigh-*test*-('") fucking color for clothes. Cuz afterall Ninjas want to be seen by all. Heh when the new GBA Naruto game came out, I wrote this by his head on the poster: "Naruto is Gay! Believe it!" And I did the same for the actual game boxes. I have fans walk in my store wearing leaf head-bands and I pray every day that they see what I did.

I am a big Anime fan, but I have to agree, the most neverending stuff coming out lately is without a doubt full bullshit. If you are into Anime and you like " everything "just because it is Anime... well you probably young :P I reckon Evangelion was overrated. Mecha anime? Yes. Deep and philisophical? But still I like Evangelion very much. Its named Evangelion for a good reason and actually its all about humanity and its failures. That reminds me of other good Anime like " Ergo proxy ", director Shukou Murase ("Witch Hunter ROBIN") and writer Dai Sato ("Cowboy Bebop") well I watched it all, its pretty damn good. Its a bit of Ghost in the Shell, Armitage, and Evangelion. Besides the story the visuals are pretty good, check it out http://www.ergoproxy.com/ If you like a deep story line, unconventional style and some freaky action, I can recommend "Paranoia Agent" ( http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,1314,wbxfug,paranoia_agent.html )Its from Satoshi Kon ( Perfect Blue ) thats it for now. I can understand most of you ppl dislike Anime, because there is so much mainstream shit, still there´s some good stuff out there. oh and besides that .. Isn´t Killer 7 more an Anime than a game? Think of the rail system (to let you see the game the way you have to see it ;) ) and the cutscenes, especially the whole style of the game ( cellshading ) .. sal

I actually rather like Satoshi Kon's stuff. I believe I made a post about Paranoia Agent earlier in the year. His stuff gets you thinking, and for once, there's a real storyline.

I saw all the Paranoia Agent episodes on youtube, that was weird, but I couldn't stop watching. And I forgot to mention the most badass comic-book-hero-style anime ever, Guyver. That series was so underrated. I mean, 12 fucking episodes. What the hell?

Yeah I hear you Sal. The younger crowd these days really has the potential to ruin anime for those who've followed it for some time. I've got this girl-friend who loves Ghost in the Shell. Loves is so much she spend her time with me talking about how cool it would be to become a cyborg. She wouldnt shut up about it. And the only thing Ghost in the Shell that I've seen was the original movie because its so damn classic. But after her, Ghost in the Shell has become a bane on me. Shit like that can ruin anything for anyone.

very true True Grave... hell, I know fan girls who are sleepin on a futon ( you know the japanese bed-style things on the floor ) just to feel a japanese atmosphere, to be connected in some strange way. hey true grave, can it be that the Wii will be sold out soon in the US? It doesnt seem to be available anymore, and the release here in europe / germany is in about a month. No more pre orders, damn. I dont wanna wait for the Wii when I have my exams the next day :P

Words can't even describe my disgust for this anime. Its to anime what FF7 is to RPGs. Same angst, same fangirls (the BAD ones, you girls are cool) and lot of other stuff. Also Sasuke = Sephiroth Hey!!! I like ff7 for the stroy and all that happy jazz not the guys! Not all fangirls like the pretty boys,heck when I used to listen to the Backstreet boys I went for the guy who was covered in tattoos not the guy who was mister pretty boy! Oh yeah and I used to listen to them (kinda still do) Don't even say anything,I already hear enough of that crap alright!

I'm sorry did Bob just quote himself? I think, Sal, that you will be able to buy a Wii with little problem sometime before 2007. Nintendo already has announced that even the 4 million units they want to ship is not enough. My guess is after the initial launch Nintendo will pause, then release a shit load of Wii consoles on us. And this will be the only time I'll be glad to be shit on.
