Doug Does Drugs! (a short film I made!!!)
So there's a film con-*test*-('") going on at this bank (Lincoln Land Credit Union) that my friend told me about. Well since it's free to enter, we decided to make a movie. It's been almost 3 years since we last did one, and I had 4 days to make the entire thing as well as being afflicted with Mono, so yeah, the last video wasn't so hot. Not so awesome. :P This time I had 21 days to write, shoot, edit, and finalize the project. This one I think turned out well. There were a few rules. No nudity, graphic violence, or innapropriate language. It has to be no more than 3 minutes long and must include the name of the bank and the bank's slogan somewhere in the film. So we decided to make an educational film that is a send up to the old silly educational films of the 60's. It's all about a boy named Doug who, after smoking pot for the first time, starts tripping balls, and...well I don't want to tell the ending to you. It could've been SO MUCH crazier...but we had a short amount of time (although MUCH longer than last time), plus we had to calm our insanity down a bit. I'm the guy with 4 doobies hanging out of his mouth. Doug is one of my best frineds (not really named Doug), the girl in the vid is my girlfriend, and the kid who vomits is my friend's brother, and the other guy sitting at the table with Doug is another one of my close friends. Their names are all in the credits. PLEASE let me know how you liked it. I was originally going to do another educational video about a kid who learns from a narrator, yet at the end of the video it turns out the narrator was some weird homeless guy named Marlok the Dancing Fairy Man who exposes himself to children and then abducts them. It's a really funny idea in my head but we didn't think the bank would..."get" it. While this vid is still wacky, it's not twisted messed up. We'll probably come back to that first idea later. The guy who plays Doug in the video and I have come up with some ideas for some shorts that could be really funny. Hopefully we'll be able to film them and then I can show those to you all as well! :D
