Ergo Proxy
Finally an anime that wasn't from the 80's (Golgo 13) that actually caught my attention. It looks like Ghost in the Shell, but with a goth chick. I'm always seeing it in stores, but I don't know if I should purchase it since most current anime sucks ass. Sure it may have been made by the creators of Samurai Champloo & Cowboy Bebop, although those two shows are good. I don't like them enough to actually shell out the cash for the dvds. While the background story is delicious & tempting. Welcome to the near-future world of "Ergo Proxy," a place where humans and robots live side-by-side in a paradise named Romudo. Thanks to strict control from the central managing agency humans are able to live the lives of their dreams--lives so perfect as to make emotions useless. Something is bubbling under the lid of control in Romudo, and Lir Mayer is charged with figuring out what. A string of vicious murders now blot the crimeless record of Romudo, a virus called "cogito" is infecting the town's autoraves--androids--with the ability to throw off the control of their masters, and to prevent the town's citizens from realizing that control is quickly dripping away from their fingers, the intelligence agency is pursuing a massive cover-up. Lir has already been caught in the middle of the investigation when she receives a visit from a call from a mysterious entity known as a "proxy." As it sounds like something that I would write, my main concern is the actual dialogue. (Anime of today almost always turns into an emo crybaby fest or some philosophical intelectual snobbery bullshit.) The main character looks like the chick from Bullet Witch. I'm hoping that this show is at least as good as the Gits Sac 1 & 2 series. Heh heh this forum pointed out that Ril http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=26995&page=3 (That's an actual name? To think when I try translating Sumio's girfriend's name in the Silver Case I kept thinking that I was translating it wrong, becuase I had no idea that Ril is an actual name.) was inspired by that Evanescence chick. (Evanescence sucks!!! To hell with all emoish Linkin Park rock, but that chick is hot though.)

OH WELL I saw the WHOLE THING long time ago :D Yeah I can say its good. I really enjoyed watching Ergyo Proxy. Every episode was really fun to me, because you had a time out of these all school life action anime lately. Some ppl say Ergo proxy is good, some other think its bogus shit with a nice artwork. I have to admit its not an action anime and you really have to like to watch a whole episode with no dialog at all. On the otherside, the atmosphere is amazing though. Its dark, its lonely and you can really relax in this "somewhere nowhere" feeling. The story is thin though, atleats for me. I waited...22 episodes? ..reeeeeally to the last episode and I found myself a little disappointed. It didnt happen much and you count to the last episode thinking " How they wanna explan this?! in one episode?! Whats very strange with Ergo Proxy is the fact, that the beginning episode is so good, a real eye catcher. Same for episode 2 and 3. But about episode 6, man like someone would have change the whole animation team. Animations gettin very loose and fuzzy. The other main character "Vincent" is an immigrant and they all have the same cloths on. There are some scenes where you cannot tell who actually is Vincent with other immigrants standing by. I am not sure about getting the whole DVD set for this series. The OST is good, artwork good too ( not always), story- weird ;D The only thing that I can say, I fall in love with the mood of Ergo proxy, they are really some great episodes. Dont miss ergo proxy man, its sure better than the average stuff.

Yeah I heard that the man behind (BITCH HUNTER) Witch Hunter Robin was in charge of directing the project & that was the same exact problem that I had with Witch Hunter Robin. The story seems good, but when you finally get to the last episode it's like "what, THAT'S IT!." Robin was only hunted down due to a misunderstanding. (The church assumed that she was going to go rogue once she found that lil' stick. So they sent in some vatican swat team & Witch hunters up her ass for no reason.) Shit I was kinda hoping that Ergo Proxy would have not turned into another Witch Hunter Robin disapointment. (Regarding the story.) As long as they don't start getting all retarded like the Matrix,Xenosaga or Metal Gear Solid than it should be fine by moi. Many people consider GITS pretentious, but I think the tv series (The 2nd one in particular) Showcases one of the best scenarios of "Information warfare" ever.
