Good reviews = Hope Wow, this game is getting great reviews all around. Hopefully it will do pretty well! Suda needs the moneys so he can make, like, Silver Case: The Movie, or something.
Maybe even Topdrunkee will enjoy NMH!

I am greatly enjoying NMH right now. It does have that God Hand vibe to the combat, and the free roam isn't that bad. Its really fun to ride around on the Schpeltiger running over pedestrians and listening to them scream. Plus you can pull off some sick jumps if you boost in the right places.
The mini game jobs aren't too bad either. I've only done the coconut job so far, and yes its tedious, but hell its kinda fun.

How's the story?
The idea of NMH trilogy sound awesome, plus they will be able to polish alot of stuff from the previous games, and, I hope the make the story more serious (if they ever make the trilogy, thats it)
venom75x- 01-23-2008
well im back from playing about 3 hrs of nmh on the hard level so far im only up to the 3rd boss and damn its hard to make enough money to fight a boss. I love the combat, and the specials in the game its great.

This game shall be mine tonight!
Yeah this game got a 9 on Gamespot. Pretty awesomeness. I cannot wait for this one to be playing in MY game system tonight!
True Grave- 01-24-2008
Well if this forum hasn't spoiled the NMH plot yet...
Its pretty cool. Think "Afro Samurai" and you're there.

America loves No More Heroes!

there is a mention of dan in a billboard near the gasoline job its says dan harman
Emir- 01-24-2008
Oh yeah, isn't he listed as director for some lulzy action flick or something? Maximum Damage 2 or something...
True Grave- 01-24-2008
Yeah! Maximum Damage 2! I'd see it!
I love the faux shops and places in Santa Destroy
Luchaco the gas station, which has surprisingly realistic gas prices, Burger Suplex, and the burger shirt to match is great, stroke of genius, the list goes on.
I'm trying to find any subtle clues to Killer 7 or any of his other games.
Heh, Moai Banking and trust...lol

Screens, or it didn't happen. (I need that Dan Smith bill board for this site.)
It's nice to see that Dan at least makes an easter egg appearance in NMH.

He's isn't a secret boss like i was expecting, but this is still awesome nonetheless.
Also TAKE THAT, JAPAN.
Now on to wait six more days D: D: D: D:

NMH constantly received good scores in Japan. Famitsu gave NMH a silver/gold rating. Gpara also gave NMH a rather high score.
I'll link y'all to all these Japanese reviews that gave NMH 8-10 scores.
(I'll have to track them down again first, I'll leave y'all off with amazon reviews.)
Click the image to go to the link.
NMH just didn't exactly fly off the shelfs.
(Which is normal, rarely any non American made game ever does anymore.)
What are the current sales figures of NMH in the U.S.? Is it really as popoular as we think is? If not than it's the same exact scenario that NMH had in Japan.
(Highly acclaimed, but the sale figures don't back it up.)
Personally I think all these reviews are full of shit.
They don't tell you jack shit about the core game mechanics.
Instead what they do is tell you what you want to hear.
It's nothing more than manufacturing consent.
I find movie reviews to be more reliable, because they actually criticize the product in question.
I'm not saying that NMH is piss fucking horrible.
(I'm sick & tired of getting my words twisted. The world is not black & white like that)
What I am saying is that it's best to keep everything in perspective, and not to let our fandom cloud our judgment.
I'm sure I'd be raving about the game like the rest of y'all if I had a wii.
Even than, deep down inside I know I'd prefer Kenka Bancho
http://kenkabancho.com/http://kenkabancho.com/vol6_2/index.html
which was just as colourful as NMH, but the move sets were actually customizable like God Hand.
