I GOT FSR on my DS!!!!
Too bad though i dont understand Japanese

axl99- 03-15-2008

Hahaha. Just noticed that Gamespy had FSR's Japanese release date as June 30... I wonder if they really meant the NA version instead? But for all I know they might just be making things up LOL.

kaxantrom- 03-15-2008

it reminds that we all need to learn Japanese :P XD

venom75x- 03-15-2008

well so far the intro movie lacks the same song as the original it has the same intro movie though. some of it is in english to so far so good

mokoi- 03-18-2008

Hopefully the june 30th release date is for NA...I know suda 51 said it would be released worldwide.

venom75x- 03-18-2008

what do you mean june 30th i thought this game is only for japan. I stopped playing fsr i got stuck at the part where i have to unlock some guys mind odd but interesting.

Are you referring to the part that happens after you park your car? I was stuck in that same exact part when I first played FSR three years ago. You're actually jacking into his silver eye. He wants you to identify yourself by relaying to him your birth date. Which should be "1113". You will then be led to the front gate of FSR. The gate won't open until you jack in the required information. You will have to jack in your birth date in reverse order. "3111" At least that's what you have to do in the best hits PS2 re release. The DS port could require a completely different set of codes for all I know.

venom75x- 03-19-2008

silver eye huh no wonder his eye kept sparkling. I'd go back and start playing again but i'd just get stuck again. I will however check if that code works just to see if your right and if it stays true to the ps2 game. Edit: Hey it worked is i wonder if i should try playing this game with an faq. But i have tons of games i'm playing ninja gaiden dragon sword, apollo justice, final fantasy crisis core, and smash bros.

axl99- 03-20-2008

I suppose you could try using the PS2 guide up on gamefaqs but dunno how you'll work around those extra 50 puzzles. Lest the gameplay is exactly the same and the rest is just moved off to the side.

FSR walkthrough http://www.d3.dion.ne.jp/~ishinabe/fsr.htm English FSR gamefaqs faq http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/game/578758.html Nah, you're better off using the Japanese walk through. What you should do is use the English faq for guidance, and the Jp faq for the answers to the codes that you need. The one hosted at gamefaqs seems to be based off of the original FSR release. That faq didn't help moi much, because the original game used different codes. (Well some of the codes were different. Not all.) Since the birth year did work, I'm guessing that the DS port is based off of the re release. (The game that I own.) If that is the case, then you should do fine with the rest of the puzzles that require Katherine. It won't help you for the newly added DS puzzles though, heh. silver eye huh no wonder his eye kept sparkling. Yeah, there's more that I'd like to say about him, but I won't. Let's just say that the plot twists that revolve around him don't really make any sense unless you played Silver Case first. (I never understood what was so significant about him myself until I replayed FSR after beating SC.) He happens to be an old acquaintance of Sumio's even though you the player & Sumio himself may not recognize him. (I'd like to explain why, but I'll hold off on that... for now.)

This might be a little off topic, but I recall that sometime in 2006 ( I think ) some dude on youtube had loads of FSR and SC videos. Actually, it have been complete walkthroughs. However, now they are gone!! Do any of you know something about it, or know how to find similar videos, cause I really cant wait for the PAL release somewhere in fall/winter 08, which will most likely be translated bad anyway :? tyler

LOL, that guy was actually me. My account was banned like the three other accounts before it. I seem to always lose my account every time it gets "too popular". I rejoined youtube at the beginning of 2008 in order to host some Moonlight Syndrome videos. This is my new youtube url. http://www.youtube.com/user/ILLnificent This is the only walkthrough that I bothered to re upload. (Because it's my favorite level in the game.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PH70WZfcar8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8oM5KMns5E I've been keeping this new account on the down low. Which is why it isn't anywhere near as known as the Calagatha account. If you notice the current account only has vids of video games. The account that you were referring to had videos about ILL ass shit from Japan. Mainly vids of shows (that don't suck.) & hot chicks. I used to focus on Suda 51 & Megaten, but I've since moved on to just posting obscure games in general. (Right now I'm planning to upload vids for Zill O'll, Maria, Hell Night, Kowloon's Gate, Arc the Lad 2, SF EX Plus Alpha, Ningyo No Rakuin, Kuro No Ken, Tobal 2, Suikoden 1/2/3/5, Suikogaiden 1 & 2, Kartia, etc.) I've came to the realization that the content that I post doesn't really appeal to Suda 51 fans or the modern megaten fanbase in general. So I never bothered to re upload the FSR walkthroughs. (Or most of my non Persona megaten related content.) They wouldn't help much anyway. I get the feeling that the DS port is completely different from the PS2 game. cause I really cant wait for the PAL release somewhere in fall/winter 08, which will most likely be translated bad anyway Confused As much as I'd like to disagree. I'm going to have to concur with this. On the bright side FSR does have more of a chance of remaining true to it's original context than Silver Case does. Even Suda 51 has said that it's kind of hard to translate SC, because of all the text. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=184821 SUDA: That's right. Flowers, Sun And Rain is pretty much finished. It will be out in Japan on 6th March, and we're very interested in bringing it to Europe. It's a similar story with The Silver Case, but there's lots of text to translate. That one may be a while coming yet.

venom75x, can you comment on FSR DS in comparision to the PS2 release? Specifically if the soundtrack holds up with the heavy compression & shitty DS speakers? As much as I'd like to disagree. I'm going to have to concur with this. On the bright side FSR does have more of a chance of remaining true to it's original context than Silver Case does. Even Suda 51 has said that it's kind of hard to translate SC, because of all the text. It really depends on what publisher ends up releasing SC & FSR in the West. On one hand, there are some great localisation teams such as Treehouse (Baten Kaitos: Origins) and the Square-Enix team that did Dragon Quest VIII/Final Fantasy XII. Then you have teams like Namco Hometek and Sega US (Yakuza) which commit crimes against humanity with some terrible localisations. If its given to a good team, i hope for the best that they will successfully translate Suda51's connoted complex script whilst giving it an element of personality (like Gyakuten Saiban > Phoenix Wright, and not like Xenogear's literal emotionless translation). That said....Silver Case for 2009....FUCK! Im too impatient to wait that long

venom75x- 03-23-2008

Well it lacks that song from the beginning idk why they cut that song it sounded good. http://youtube.com/watch?v=EUkmvPidyVc as for the other songs i can't really compare them because i haven't seen a vid of anyone playing at the part where i am at. I was going to use the guide and try and beat this game but since i'm leaving for a couple of months i'll just wait for the european version to be released since it will probably be first. I'm still considering if i should just play the silver case version first when it gets released or should i just play fsr first?

kaxantrom- 03-25-2008

Hopefully the june 30th release date is for NA...I know suda 51 said it would be released worldwide.I don't think it is coming out stateside by this date. In UK, Rising Star will be publishing FSR but about America there is no publisher *atlus go for it*
