Let the purge begin...
Okay I've banned at least 30 to 40 screen names. I realize that some of them may have not deserved it,but that's why I chose to ban instead of deleting their screen names. With a site about Killer 7, it's hard to tell which members are just spam bots. Since some members of the forum happen to have dubious pornographic names, but they actually are using the board for real. Nevertheless I feel the need to purge all questionable individuals without question

I know that you felt like you shouldn't delete a bunch of screennames Topdrunkee however, I decided to. I deleted loads of em. I knew which ones were spammers and all that (since I've been banning them and all that for a couple months now), so I deleted them. I also deleted the ones which have never been active at any point. It said if they've ever been active and I deleted many (not all of course) who have never even used their accounts. I'm not sure if I should've or not (I hope I didn't do anything bad! :O), however, after banning a person tonight who has posted under 29 different IP adresses, I just got sick of it. If anyone has any problems with that, send me a message or an e-mail. However if someone who DOES use this forum is inactive now, contact me and I will Un-ban your IP address. You can find my e-mail since it's in my profile. The 29 IP's were under one person but I'm not sure if that could've included any other screennames, if it did, let me know your IP address and I'll change it. But yeah I'm sure you can notice how many names I deleted if you go to the memberlist. It was at about 30 pages now it's at.....8. That's how many inactive users were on here. I didn't ban them all (I'm sure some of em might want to use this forum at some point), I just deleted their names. If they want to use the forum, just make a new account. I'm sorry if this bugs anyone but I'm seriously sick of all these spammers. I have to ban and delete people EVERY time I get on here. Maybe without so many names people won't be thinking it's ok to just put their garbage up in here. We don't care if it's explicit, just as long as it's US!!!! Not someone promoting some porno site. I think this is all I'm going to say about the subject for now as I'd like to get back to enjoying this forum. Thank you.

Wait 30 PAGES? Sometimes I just wish the internet would derail and burst in flames. I remember when I joined we had only 25 users and the site had been up FOR A YEAR.

Yeah not 30 names, 30 PAGES of people. This includes all of us of course but it also included everyone else who is a spammer, everyone who just rendomly made an account and never used it, and so on. I just thought it was ridiculous. I remember that when I would get on here there would be about 1 new person every couple weeks or so....MAYBE. Now it's a new person everytime I'm on. It's never an actual new K7 fan or anything it's always a spammer now. Sometimes I'll find the newest user will change when I'm on here. I just thought it was insane for all of this nonsense to be happening all the time. So if they know it's not ok, maybe they'll chill out a bit. It's only been until recently they've started coming here too! They weren't on here for MONTHS up until a couple months ago. Now it's constant. Ughs, it's enough. Maybe we should make it so they have to be authorized to use their accounts before they can or something. Make everyone pledge alliegeance to Harman first, haha.

It's all good Jedilink,actually I was planning to discuss the manner about the spam accounts with you through a PM. I never got around to it due to the supossedly bad weather conditions in Washington. I also thought it was ridiculous how the majority of the members don't even bother to use the site. In fact I actually applaud your actions for taking charge & doing what you felt was most appropiate. That's exactly how a Forum admin. should act. If you hadn't done it, I would've. The only problem that I have is that you deleted some of my contacts like Pogo. There were also several others in this forum who only joined to pm me. But that's besides the point, the important thing is that you took affirmative action. BTW some of the individuals that you didn't get rid of are already banned by moi hah hah. Back when K7 SIN started it was actually posted in Shockley Hayne's plot faq. (and still is, although the old url is long dead.) And K7 SIN was even feat. in the front page of Hardcore Gaming 101. Now in days K7 SIN is advertised in every IGN, Gamespot,Gamespy K7 related page, but for some reason we still have a hard time attracting full time members. I don't really understand why, but I don't let it bother me either. I'm too occupied with trying to get all the K7 content up, but since I write both the content & the site layout it usually takes moi a long time before I ever get anything up.

That's it I'm fucking fed up with this shit. I had to spend an hour or two of my life just trying to delete & ban ips,e-mails, & screen names from the forum. (There were over 30 spam topics flooding the forum.) I've even added several scripts to prevent the bots (& human spamfags as well.), but they still find a way to get trhough. I have to say I'm done with this mothafucking bull shit. From now on everytime I see a spam post, I'm going to delete at least 10 member accounts. (It sounds extreme but believe me most of the current accounts are spammers anyway.)

Couln't you make the account activation manually? Like on another forum I go the admin has to activate the account. Like that you'd just have to validate names that don,t sound too spammy or make sense.

I could, but than my e-mail account would be over flooded with spam. (Meaning I would get way too many notices asking moi to validate their accounts.) Since I only visit the forums sporadicly I usually won't be able to check in, in time for any new member who is legitamately using (or lurking) the site. BTW I recently deleted 12 more members. Sure I said 10, but I felt that See her Squirt & Live Condom needed to be ousted from the site. In total I've deleted at least 26 to 30 something members today.
