Maximum the Hormone (J-Rock/Metal/Death Metal)
Okay, this is a Japanese Death Metal band going by the name Maximum the Hormone. I first heard about them from the second openings and closing animations from Death Note the anime. Turns out these songs below were actually written just for Death Note. 1. What's Up People (forget the corny title, I love both the music and the meaning behind the lyrics, which I'll post on the lyrics' topic) - what's up people Death Note version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi6ZwTWWnu4 - what's up people PV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csk-k_520NQ 2. Zetsubou Billy ("Despair Billy") - zetsubou billy death note version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us4Amr683kA - zetsubou billy PV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvUQ_z7krnw I listen to these two songs a lot, imagining an anime version of Killer7. If I were to do an anime version of it, I would contract these guys. There was some Japanese (not sure, it appears so) fellow who actually did a Biohazard (resident evil) version of the Death Note 2nd opening. Not a simple AMV, but with original animation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jNnVqCOwkA I'd love if someone did something like this for Killer7. Death Note's "Kira" is actually "killer", a japanese attempt at pronounciation. So it ends up being even more fitting.

Re: Maximum the Hormone (J-Rock/Metal/Death Metal)
It's cool how Death Note starts off with a typical lame ass J-rock song, but then later on in the series they replace the J-rock theme with the Metal that you just posted. I listen to these two songs a lot, imagining an anime version of Killer7. If I were to do an anime version of it, I would contract these guys. Nah Death metal doesn't really scream "Killer 7" to me. Metal is too in your face. It matched Death Note, because the story revolves around Death gods. Killer 7 wasn't "Fuck you Motha Fucka!" K7 was more like "Son of a Bitch! Ah screw it.... Fuck'em." K7 is apathetic, & unorthodox. K7 doesn't try to make a scene, but K7 gets noticed anyway because that's how weird the game is. K7 slowly creeps up on ya & says loudly into your ear "Hey bitch. How's it going, huh?" When I think of Killer 7 I usually think of slow eerie Jazz/rock cuts like Blankey Jet City's "Derringer" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IwC_DxvWjI (Which is my 2nd favourite song of all time. When I first saw this song on tv. I was like "shit! That's fucked up. This ish reminds moi of Persona.") Even the music video looks art house. There was even a part when tv monitor static kicks in after the ghost chick screams. That's my type of woman right there. She's looks like a goddamn ghost, but hey that's aight. People usually tell moi that I look like demon anyway. (Well actually I prefer women with more substantial bodies, but I do prefer the whole pale like a ghost look.) This vid was creepy looking, and it wasn't even trying to be. Kinda like a David Lynch film. Another song that I think is very "Killer 7" Is another Jazz track by an artist called UA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=821ha2PwbyA This is my favourite cut right here. I even use this song in the K7 fan game. (It's the over world theme. I made a looping beat out of the backing track.) I love the part when she starts bobbing her head & moving her body all crazy during the breakdown part at 1:50. Those are the same exact head movements that I do whenever I hear this song. UA makes some of the "realest" soul music that I've ever heard. You can seriously feel the vibe whenever she sings this cut. Like Derringer I also thought of the game "Persona" when I first heard this song. Hell she even has glowing butterfly's in her video. I used to think she was ugly as hell when I was a kid, because she looks like a derelict. Now that I'm seeing this vid again, I'm like damn she's hot. (Probably because her style is so original, & refreshing.) God I love this song. Yakuza should be repping this cut in their black sedans. Best of all UA even made a latin slasa remix, a hardcore bass remix, & some, I don't even know what the hell genre it was... ---- If there's one thing that I truly do miss about Japan... It would be how I miss the whole "it's so weird it's creepy atmosphere" that a lot of the Japanese only (Made in Japan & stays in Japan.) productions had. (Although we do get to see some glimpses of this Japanese weirdness in their Horror movies, but man it's even weirder when you see this type of shit on public tv & in real life, lol.) Hah hah I have this Japanese rap music video called "Stay Gold" by Elephant Love. The vid revolves around these three mc's who are in a strip bar & some hot red headed Japanese cowgirl chick starts stripping. (I forget her name. All I know is that her first name is Rika. She was a pretty popular stripper at the time.) Yeah that set up may sound typical for a rap video, but the video was weird as fuck. It was Suda 51/ Persona post modern weird. Every time she'd took a strip of clothing off this badass guitar riff would kick in. By the time the guitars kick in at full force the hot stripper chick is butt naked shaking that ass like crazy. I'm making it sound pornographic, but it's not. That vid was abstract art IMO. I just never seen anything like it before... You probably need to hear the song to see what I mean. Everything in the music video matched the song perfectly. Unfortunately nobody uploaded this vid on youtube. I doubt that it stay there long anyway due to the full frontal nudity. About the nudity. It wasn't even censored. The only thing they did censor was the vaginal area. The funny part is that the mosaics made the video look even more "artistic" because they used stars to partially cover her genital parts. There's another Japanese rap video that I saw called "Bite4Fite", but I never got to record the whole vid on tape. It actually had rapping zombies,Frankensteins & vampires in it who kept yelling "Rapper jenai!" (I ain't a rapper!) What's funny was that the song kicked ass, coz it had Catholic Priests spinning turntables, scratching records & shit. The eerie beat was off the hook, & each monster Mc had a trademark flow like the Wu-Tang Clan. One would sound like a monster, another guy would sound smooth, the zombie chick would sound buck wild & start dancing like a zombie as if she were from MJ's Thriller video. I'd love if someone did something like this for Killer7. I'd make the vid myself. If you did the drawings for it. (Your art style screams Killer 7, imo.)

Heh, next to the op of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, the Death Note op is probably one of the most parodied videos ever. I don't know if What's Up peple would really fit K7 (when I think of K7, I think of that jazzy pimp music when Curtis shoots his whore and rampages through the building), but a parody video would be awesome.

When I think Killer7, at this point, I can't really see the game anymore. I think it totally transformed inside my head. As a matter of fact, with Killer7, I think I would rather adopt the Sopranos method of soundtrack use. Completely different songs each episode, depending on whatever the hell is happening. Or not, just to play -against- whatever the hell is happening. Quote: I'd love if someone did something like this for Killer7. I'd make the vid myself. If you did the drawings for it. (Your art style screams Killer 7, imo.) I like the idea. I could come up with a dozen or so pictures, or two dozens and then you just edit them at your leisure and apply whatever song you'd like. Those vids you posted are pretty cool. I didn't really feel UA's, but I especially like the "Derringer" one, both the song and the video. I can't take my mind out of the comic at hand, though, it's #1 priority to me at this time. By the way, are into Shiina Ringo or what? (I am)

These 3 songs aren't Killer 7 IMO, I'm just linking them because these vids are straight up fucked up. Dir en grey - Obscure (uncut version) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4wCP2g1eto Don't watch this vid if you have a weak stomach, but since this is a Killer 7 website. I'm betting that everybody here could handle the "fucked upness" of this vid. Dir en grey -ZAN http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqUbK_6bw8E This song was popoular as hell when I was in Japan. (It was in the top 3 of the oricon charts. Like the U.S. the majority of the songs that are in the top 10 are straight up bullshit. It's surprising that a cool song like Zan actually made it up there.) The vid is mad fucked up, although it's not as grotesque as Obscure. (Obscure had tentacle monsters.) SADS - Pornostar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkiTVEDMs4Q Heh heh, I remember this cut. It's exactly as it says. It's a rock video with a couple of sexy well endowed Caucasian cowgirl strippers with double d breasts. I wonder how short Sads are anyway, because those stripper chicks are towering over them. This is not artistic like the Stay gold video that I described, it's just straight up Rock & Porn. I'm posting it here, because you could never get away with a video like this in the United States. (Full frontal nudity.) SADS - Sandy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22zVaxKXztU It's not weird at all, I'm just adding it because I'm mad addicted to this track. I like the idea. (I am) Yeah Shina Ringo's cool. I don't really listen to her music though. I've heard that Ringo was the inspiration for I-No in Guilty Gear. (They do look a bit similar, but it's funny though. I've always seen I-No as some sexy White gothic chick.) If you dig Shina Ringo you'll might like Pizzicato Five http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFVSThXXkqQ This song has more of a "Flower, Sun & Rain" vibe rather than K7. I'm more of an Aco fan. I think her music would be perfect for Killer 7, because she too has that slowly "creepin' up on ya" vibe going on. I use this track for a lot of my horror music vids, lol ACO - hosshi no kuzu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8my4pa_jCNU I don't agree with the Japanese Bjork comment in that vid. I think UA's the Japanese Bjork. Aco is more R&B influenced. Here's a horror vid I made where I use one of Aco's tracks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fC4GMT30Bm4 (The other songs are by Blam Honey, Krita Yuga & RUMI.) 4 gatsu no hero - ACO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o85wfd47Z4U This shit is weird. WTF is up with the sheep head? DJ Krush feat. Aco and Twigy - Tragicomic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1MppwP_aNg This song kinda reminds me of Silent Hill, but then again most SH tracks sound a lot like DJ Krush in the first place. Ah man you didn't like UA. It starts out slow, but that cut was smooth. A lot like the Blackburn mansion song. That strong hypnotizing voice she has goes along so well with the drum beat. Here's another song that I think fits the K7 mold MIKI NAKATANI "Frontier" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV0e5xvJBfA Like all the other vids I've linked this shit is also weird. In one scene she's hot & in another she's a friggin' zombie. It was the theme song for some TV drama, but I can't remember what it was, because it was way back in 99, 2000. A nice soothing track. It starts out slow & then gradually builds up. I could imagine making a K7 vid out of this where everybody is getting their heads blown off. The contrast between the seemingly serene vibe of the song & the smooth stylistic violence of K7 would be a pretty good match IMO. Although Derringer is still the best fit, because that song sounds like it's out to get you. The Jazz/Piano singer Fayray is one of the best fits for K7 IMO, unfortunately nobodies uploaded any vids of Fayray that are representative of the style that she used to have. (I name practically everything after Fayray songs, like Daydream Cafe.) When it comes to K7 backing tracks I think the best fit is a song that's both smooth & abstract. Most of these tracks I've listed are pretty damn weird. (When compared to the shallowness of the North American music industry.) The only countries I've seen that come out with shit that's even more f'd up is the stuff that I see coming from the French & Germany. When I was in Japan I saw this one French song with a kick ass electronica beat & a hot Blonde chick singing about stuffin' you inside a tree, lol.
