Has anyone seen this anime? I've watched a few episodes on youtube, and it looks pretty awesome. It's a sort of serial murder thriller. Or something.

Is it really thats good? what so special about it? what makes it so unique? Anything knew in this Anime? Does someone know Ergo Proxy? ;)

I'm not really one for anime, but Monster's unlike any anime I've ever seen before, it's not another sci-fi or fantasy series but a mystery thriller about a serial killer whose life was saved by a doctor, who holds himself responsible for everyone he's killed since then. The thing I love about this series is how well-written each episode is and all the interesting and well-developed characters you're introduced to. Like the four-foot tall neo-nazi who wants to purify a city. The show starts off at first like that Gameboy SP medical game (which I've forgotten the name of) but turns into something completely different within a couple episodes. The reason I can't seem to stop watching is probably because the show just gets better and better. Thank god for youtube, or I'd probably never have been able to find out how great it is.

Well, ive seen the whole Anime now... Its gold, one of the best stories ive ever!... experienced! Everyone should see this... Inspector Runge is now and for ever on my Coolest-Fictional-character list! (i just had to say that). I feel so sorry for those who doesnt try to atleast watch a few episode (it really is getting better and better).

I've been reading the Manga and I'm addicted to it. Like Lisker said earlier the series has allot of good characters, I've lost count. It flows really well and has an almost british comic book stlye to it, it doesnt really feel Japanese, might just be the European setting but still. Great series all around.

Hmmmm.......all this ranting about this anime makes me wanna watch!

There's already tons, if not all, of full episodes on youtube. That's how I watched. I'm not sure if it's available in the U.S.

Best anime I've ever seen, and I've been watching since the 80's. These days, there seems to be way too much fanservice nonsense. Either that or just all style & gore but no substance which just makes for a mind-numbing show. It's a little hard to find a show with substance and interesting, serious characters or themes, you know what I mean? Monster has it all. I was enthralled the entire 74 episodes, I enjoyed it that much. As for the DVDs being released, I remember reading somewhere about the author of the manga not wanting them released in the U.S. until all volumes of the manga had been released by Viz. I don't know which volume it is up to here, but last I checked, it was almost finished. Hopefully we'll get the DVDs soon since I'm ready to re-watch this amazing show for the third time.
