Moonlight Syndrome ~ The oral sex of a court of Justice
If you're wondering "The oral sex of a court of Justice" is a tag line that's used in the game. Here's some Youtube videos of Moonlight Syndrome. This is the game that originated the themes & ideas that were used in FSR,SC & K7. I call these series of games the "Kill the Past" franchise. Moonlight Syndrome is a side story to the hugely successful Twilight Syndrome. The moon in the Killer 7 load screens, & Silver Case level finished screens are a reference to Moonlight Syndrome. Sumio's plot in Silver Case is directly influenced by the events of Moonlight Syndrome. Preview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXZnWF4Zivs I love the music. Sounds like a remix of the song that I use in my Moonlight Syndrome site. I wish I could get my self a copy of this game. Ending http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGWSsDOhWFM Be sure to watch the part after the credits. After playing through Killer 7, SC, & FSR I think it's safe to assume that Suda almost always ends his games with a cliffhanger. My Moonlight Syndrome site http://www.killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/moonlight.html BTW I'm currently in the process of making gameplay videos of Silver Case. (I finally found a PSX emulator that actually works.) Haven't been around in awhile because I've been too occupied with the game Orochi Musou (Orochi Wariors) ---- Twilight Syndrome epilogue http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnU4vINAY90 (These games have nothing to do with Suda's Kill the Past, but the origins of Kill the Past were spawned from the alternate timeline known as Moonlight Syndrome.)

Note: I wanted to add some screen shots that I took, but photo bucket is under maintenance right now. I'll add them later. Finally Moonlight Syndrome is within my grasp. http://www.snesorama.us/board/showthread.php?t=28542 I decided to swallow my pride & re registered for a new account at youtube. (They blocked at least two of my e-mail accounts.) I did so in order to upload some Moonlight Syndrome vids. Moonlight Syndrome Intro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLsFEzQcuf0 Moonlight Syndrome Ending http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StgZtTXJm8M This is that ending I keep talking about. It was continued in Silver Case & referenced in Killer 7. Moonlight Syndrome ストーリー/考察 Ryo meets up with Yayoi & Silver http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vE10ol1YGE Moonlight Syndrome ストーリー/考察 Credits http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdldHaXg40k Moonlight Syndrome gameplay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk1dn6vHn6I Moonlight SYndrome gameplay 2 More will be coming up shortly. I'm planning to bring back all my Suda & Megaten related videos. Along with the rest of my video game & anime nerd shit. I've learned my lesson. I will not post videos of random big tit, big ass J women just for the channel hits. I'm sticking to obscure games this time. (Yeah right, that's what I said last time... Look at how that turned out.) Music that I ripped. Moonlight Syndrome (ambient techno) http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/Moonlight%20Syndrome.mp3 Sounds like Persona. Shimokita (Bebop jazz, I think.) http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/msSHIMOkita.mp3 Sounds like FSR. STALKER (Metal) http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/msSTALKER.mp3 Moonlight Syndrome Credits (Jpop) http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/moonlightcredits.mp3 Sounds like the old days, when Jpop actually sounded pretty decent. STATIC (Ambient) http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/msSTATIC.mp3 SOunds like the menu song for Fallout. Here's the strategy guide that I'm using. I already went to the trouble of google translating it. So y'all won't have to. http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&langpair=ja%7Cen&u=http://bh.vis.ne.jp/gamedata/moonlight/index.html I originally looked for a Moonlight FAQ at this adventure gaming site http://www.d3.dion.ne.jp/~ishinabe/ but they only had Silver Case & FSR. Speaking of which, I stopped by at the favorite adventure game poll that they were holding in that site. http://gh.vis.ne.jp/vote/p_vote.cgi I was shocked to see that SC & FSR are in the top 5. Silver Case itself was no. 2. Beaten only by Phoenix Wright. I knew SC was popular, because I see so many damn websites trying to dissect it's story, but I had no idea it was that popular. LOL at Silent Hill it's only at rank 90. (I knew I wasn't the only one out there who thinks SH is pure trash. Good ambiance, gfx & ost, but that's about it.) MGS was somewhere in the 50's or 60's. Killer 7 is even more laughable it's all the way down at 133. I agree with that rank. K7 is an f'ng random ass mess when you see how focused & detailed his normal games are. (MS,SC,FSR.) I feel sorry for Moonlight Syndrome. I think it should be ranked a little bit higher, but I can't blame them. MS is a typical japanese adv game. Nothing about it really stands out. MS plays & looks like The Longest Journey. (Minus the point & click interface.) Thoughts about Moonlight One thing that I think is hilarious is that the graphics for Moonlight Syndrome look much nicer than Flower, Sun & Rain ever did. It's nice to see how this whole Kill the Past saga started. So that's why Sumio Mondo & Yayoi Hanayama flirted with each other so damn much in FSR. It turns out that Yayoi Itsushima was actually one of Sumio Touba's girls in Moonlight Syndrome. Speaking of Sumio, I'm surprised to see how much of an asshole he is in Moonlight Syndrome. He's always been an asshole, but he was more of a perverted asshole in SC & FSR. Sumio is just a straight up cock sucker in MS. There's a scene where one of Sumio's ex's lights her self on fire, and Sumio just stands there laughing & being burned by that fire at the same time. (His pet Yayoi comes in & douses the fire out.) Now I know for certain that the Black guy in NMH is "you know who". You actually get to play as Ryo Kazan for a level. (Ryo is that guy who got killed off at the end of the intro level in Silver Case. He's also that dead guy sitting in front of the tv in Moonlight Syndrome's ending.) The main character is Mika Kishi. I got stalked by a fat guy in one level, so I had to kick him in the nuts to get rid of him. I eventually got kidnapped by some 4 eyed stalker rapist, but thankfully Alisa & co. arrived with some bosozoku backup I guess. I knew Mika was going to die, because of all the criticism that Suda got for killing her off. I didn't think that she would die in such a laughable, but brutal matter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOLEPYofbe8 (I'm not sure if that's supposed to be Mika in the vid. I extracted all the cut scenes. So I need to play the game to see it in it's original context.) Mika gets killed in a random accident while these construction workers were working on some building. The roof collapses & squashes Mika dead flat. It's some hard core shit. I'm still waiting for the day when Suda finally makes a Silver Case style game for an international audience. Suda seems to think that those of us in the West can only appreciate his work. Whenever he's doing something zany & over the top like NMH & K7. I want him to show the world how classy & mature his style actually is. (Every Suda game is crazy, but onlythe SC games, FSR & MS seemed to have class.) If you're wondering, Moonlight Syndrome sucks. That shouldn't be a surprise though. I think all of Suda's games suck, but damn he sure knows how to reel me in with his style & direction. I won't be participating in the forums very much for the duration of this month. Coz, y'know I finally attained a copy of where it all started. Well to be frank, the real beginning is in Silver Case. Moonlight Syndrome feels more like a prototype. I'm guessing this is what a normal Twilight Syndrome game feels like. MS seems pretty generic. SC & FSR constantly bombard you with twists & turns. MS just feels like it's going through the motions, but when the twists happen. It twists just enough to twist your arm off. I need to devote all my time to the new layout, finishing Moonlight Syndrome & adding in ass loads of new content. Maybe now I can finally understand this website http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~tamamo/talk2/013.htm I almost forgot. Here's some Moonlight Syndrome instruction manual scans. Sent by Simen Johnson. EDIT: Never mind I lost the link. I'll upload them to the main site some time.

Machine translations aren't exactly the shit right now, especially Japanese to English, but in this site here, you can input a piece of text at the top left corner and below it shows diferent translations using various machine translation engines around the web. Each of them translates the text diferently, so in case you're not fluent, it may give you an interesting overall idea of the real meaning of the text: http://sukimania.ddo.jp/trans/trans_e.php

Hey talk about the game, lol. Or Silver Case & FSR's popularity with Japanese adv gamers. (That's a pretty popular site that I linked to. I go their all the time every time I need an adv faq.) There's a scene where the silver hair kid spies on some kids who are playing "Clock Tower" (Same music & sfx.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxVziAPXwZg Moonlight syndrome related deaths http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY-JMFYw4KY News Report dead school girl (Kyoko Kazan) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_-Bpmb_eCE Yayoi reports to Sumio. Ryo resonates into some dream world. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCpkVr3KzqI I wanted to upload some gameplay videos, but youtube won't convert them for some reason. More mp3s Lost Highway (Techno funk) http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/mslosthighway.mp3 Bar (techno funk) http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/msbar.mp3 Kyoko Kazan (Piano) http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/mskyoko.mp3 I had to turn the voices off in order to record this song. Too bad you can still hear Ryo walking. The scene automatically plays by itself. So I couldn't do anything about it. Screenshots Mika Kishi Ryo Kazan There's a couple screwing in the bathroom. I've only played through 5 stages so far. CAST Kyoko Kazan Her brother has been brooding lately due to her recent death. (All pictures of Kyoko are taken during flashback & dream scenes.) She kind of looks like some kind of Toriko Kusabi prototype. (Although she's obviously not. I already have Toriko prototype pics http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/torikoface.jpg hosted at the SC site.) Except I think Kyoko is pretty damn hot. (Tori is just cute.) Ryo Kazan The brother of Kyoko Kazan. He's been in a state of depression lately. Ever since his sister died. Ryo & Rumi Touba make an appearance in the intro chapter to Silver Case. Kyoko Kazan's head is still stuffed inside that brown bag that Sumio had, bit now his younger sister is in possesion of Kyoko's head. Both Ryo & Rumi get killed off by Tetsugurou Kusabi. (One of the main characters.) Tetsuguro told Rumi to put the head (Kyoko) down. He killed her, because she did not comply. Whereas Ryo got shot full of lead (At least 2 or 3 clips.), because Ryo tried to kill Tetsuuro, lol. Ryo tries to kill Tetsuguro http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/Silverlunatics01.wmv The Kazans die. (I'm not sure if that really is Kyoko, but that's definitely Ryo.) http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/Silverlunatics02.wmv Edit: Nope not Kyoko at all. That's not a girl named Rumi. It is Rumi. Kyoko is the head Rumi is holding on to. Sumio Touba & Yayoi Itsushima Sumio is a hardcore bastard in this game. He's a player. (He's always been a player, but you see it in full force in Moonlight SYndrome.) I have a recording of one of Sumio's girls burning herself to death while Sumio just stands there laughing, but youtube couldn't convert the video for some reason. Edit: Sumio actually died when that girl self immolated herself. Sumio died laughing This isn't the same Sumio from Silver Case & FSR. Moonlight Syndrome take place in 1999. Sumio Touba is only 18. Sumio Kodai is at least 23 or 24 yrs. old during 1999. Now on to Yayoi Itsushima. She was always depicted as a bit of a whore like (Yayoi Hanayama) in FSR, but like Sumio she's also a bit more straight forward in this game. Check out the camel toe. Yayoi is a manipulative bitch. She indirectly lets Mika get kidnapped by some rapist. Edit: All wrong. She only sets Mika up in order to create the conditions that Mitra (Silver haired kid) needed. In order to convince Ryo into agreeing with a pact that would extend Mika's lifespan. The contract is automatically nullified if Ryo touches Mika in any shape or form. When that happens. Mitra will take Mika's mind, body & soul away. --- Sumio was so obsessed with trying to hook up with Kyoko that he settled for the next best thing. Kyoko's head inside a brown bag. (KILLER 7) Sumio Mondo & Yayoi Hanayama from FSR Rumi Touba Sumio's sister & Ryo's girlfriend. She's also friends with Mika Kishi. (Sort of.) Rumi is kind of jealous how Ryo seems to love his dead sister more than he does her. Edit: All wrong. Except for the part about Rumi being Sumio's sister. (Younger sister actually.) I made this shit up about Rumi. I figured that her & Ryo were lovers, because they're both appeared in Silver Case. (I assumed they were some Bonnie & Clyde type outfit. However Rumi's just a normal person, & Ryo possibly went insane since he no longer has anything left to live for.) Rumi is really just an acquaintance of Ryo, & she is a friend of Mika. While Sumio comes back in later games as Sumio Kodai & Sumio Mondo. This is the last game that you see Rumi in. (Although there's a girl who looks like Kyoko Kazan who goes by Rumi's name in Silver Case.) Edit: Wrong. Sumio Touba is not Sumio Kodai/Mondo at all. That girl in Silver Case doesn't look a damn thing like Kyoko. She just has the same haircut as Kyoko, but the actual face looks more like Rumi. Mika Kishi (The main character) She looks straight up Caucasian imo. I wonder what her background is? She's pretty hot, but like most Suda 51 characters she gets killed off. (In her very own game no less. Much like the Killer 7.) Suda says that a lot of fans were upset with her death. I'm guessing that Mika was originally from the Twilight Syndrome games. (Since her name is always displayed in the intro as if she were a reoccurring character that you're supposed to recognize. I can't really say much about her, because she doesn't really do much. Other than getting stalked & kidnapped by potential rapists. (Both men & women.) The only thing special about her so far is that she was given a key by some silver haired kid. Edit: Her purpose in the story is that Ryo made a pact with Mitra in order to extend Mika's life. Ryo actually loves Mika, and Mika also likes him back. However they never knew the feelings that they had for each other until after the pact was made. It's tragic & ironic, because normally Mika wouldn't have lived long enough to even be aware of Ryo's true feelings for her. When she did finally learn Ryo's true feelings for her. She ended up dying anyway, because of what Mitra did to Ryo. Mika decided to trade places with Ryo in order for Ryo to regain back his consciousness. (However she never knew that Ryo already made a pact with Mitra.) When Ryo came to. He was disheartened to see Mika standing in front of him looking like some crazy ass (Hik7) heaven smile. He tried to smack her out of it, but his repressed emotions took the best of him. Mitra (Silver haired kid) I guess he's a prototype for the silver eyes & the shelter children policy. There's a scene in the game where he reconstructs his brain together. He seems to be on good terms with Sumio & Yayoi. It was actually Yayoi who introduced the Silver haired kid to Ryo. The silver hair kid likes to play a lot of mind games with Mika Kishi. Edit: Mitra pretty much plays mind games with everybody. The only person that he's on good terms with is Yayoi. Machine translations aren't exactly the shit right now, especially Japanese to English, I only google translated the guide as a courtesy for the rest of the people in the forum. In case somebody asked if there was an english faq out. (There's none.) The faq itself only lists what you need to do. It lets you figure out yourself when to do it. (That's all you really need to know to get through the game.) I used to use Tans, but it's dead now. The best site imo is http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/wwwjdicinf.html I use it when ever I come across that ancient calligraphy Chinese bullshit that's impossible to read.

Hey talk about the game, lol. I still have to play it, but I'm with Silver Jiken right now. Ryo Kazan - so that's the dipshit that gets shot repeatedly by Kusabi. I haven't really figured out yet what was he doing at the beginning of game... Ryo, I mean. What's the purpose of all these "Sumio"? Touba, Kodai, Mondo? Or Silver Case & FSR's popularity with Japanese adv gamers. You want me to psychoanalyze that? Maybe a passive (Japan) vs active (West) kind of gaming audience. I already said what I thought of that in the NMH board. Of course I wasn't too serious about the stand girls theory. I really think that what's really going on is that simply, a lot of Japanese gamers really prefer to watch the game unfold before them with only the sligh-*test*-('") impression of control, or interactivity. So, in Japan, such games get a natural audience, while here it's a niche. But of course, the sophistication found in Suda51's adventure games doesn't really need a niche to get appreciated, it's really common sense. Unfortunately, without a consistent "cushion" (target audience) to accomodate such games, true gems like Suda's adventure games' series will have a rough time to break into the west, from a marketing mentality POV. But hell, all of this I'm saying is redundancy. NOW, having said that, kicking the preference thing out of the way, the rating makes sense to me. I'm also surprised with how Silver Case has been hanging on all these years. It must've really made quite an impression. From what I've been playing so far, I can say it's awesome, and this from a purely atmosphere/setting point of view. It also reeks of sophistication and class, the kind that wasn't really present in neither Snatcher or Policenauts, two great games with similar mechanics. SC also gets rid of all the ripoff that plagued both these games, and the result is, ironically, an atmosphere resembling Blade Runner much more than Snatcher, who practically ripped of every surface element from that movie. SC also has a quasi nostalgic feel to me in particular, and here I can't really explain what it is exactly that makes me feel this way. Awesome setting, and downright scary moments at times.

(Been uploading moonlight vids to youtube ever since.) http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C346A5B543532B14 I spoke too soon. The game gets all crazy once you get to the 2nd disc. It's exactly like Silver Case by the end of the game. (In fact, Silver Case actually continues right where Moonlight Syndrome left off.) Moonlight Syndrome begins & ends in Jan. 1999. Silver Case begins shortly after Moonlight Syndrome during Jan. 1999. It seems that Ryo went insane after losing both Kyoko & Mika, Rumi went along with Ryo, because she's the only other survivor of the Moonlight Syndrome. (Yayoi is the only person from Moonlight Syndrome who is still alive.) Tetsuguro Kusabi effectively killed off all chances for a Moonlight Syndrome sequel when he killed the last Moonlight survivors off. Can't really blame him though. What the hell is he supposed to think when he sees a woman walking around with a woman's severed head hidden inside a brown paper bag, lol. I must say Moonlight Syndrome is my favorite story from Suda 51. It has the story that I was expecting FSR to have. (Moonlight Syndrome is some kind of twisted love story. FSR is just a government conspiracy disguised as some spiritual bullshit.) It turns out that during the level when Mika gets kidnapped & Yayoi introduces Ryo to the Silver haired kid. (The kid's name is Mitra btw. He doesn't tell you his name until he grants Mika the power to hear people's thoughts.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mWAfj4NBwg What actually happened is that the kid presented Ryo an ultimatum or a contract that would extend Mika's life & ensure her safety. Ryo consents to the contract, because Mika reminds him of his dead sister. (Mika was the only other person who Ryo was close with.) However the contract is automatically nullified once Ryo or Mika make physical contact with each other. (In other words. Ryo is forbidden to get intimate with Mika & vice versa.) The deal was made, because Mika actually died during the time she was kidnapped, but Yayoi did something to delay the inevitable. (I have no idea wtf she did.) For the rest of the game you play as Mika. (Who has no idea that she has a death contract signed in her name.) Mika often wonders why Ryo got distant all of a sudden. Mika & her friends went to investigate an apartment complex where everybody kept committing suicide by jumping off the top of the roof. Alisa (Mika's friend.) Note: These eyes represent the children of this apartment complex. Mika meets a girl named Riru. (She is not the same Riru from Silver Case. That Riru died 20 something yrs. ago.) They drink tea with each other. Riru is confronted by Chisato who is the older sister of Yayoi. (Chisato is 18. Yayoi's age is never verified.) The Moonlight Syndrome is basically just a gauge that influences the human mind's murderous intent based off of the phases of the moon. The night of a Crescent moon is when strange behaviour occurs. However a full moon typically results in a loss of sanity. The night with Riru was during a full moon. Practically all the children from that apartment complex jumped to their deaths. Note: If you notice, practically all the moon phases in Killer 7 were full moons. Which would also hint as to why that game was so retardedly crazy. Chisato Itsushima (The older sister of Yayoi.) tries to reason with Riru, but Riru felt content with her decision & jumped off the roof. (Falling on top of a guy & kiilling him upon the impact, LOL!) The Itsushima sisters have ESP like powers for some reason. Don't ask me why. It turns out that Yayoi is actually the Toriko/Harman Smith of Moonlight Syndrome & you're not supposed to understand everything about her. Chisato is opposed to Mitra whereas Yayoi is affiliated with that lil' kid. In the next chapter. We're treated to a level that seems to be the prototype for Flower, Sun & Rain. Mika & Yukari go out to party with each other at a rave. Mika decided to sleep for a bit. What happens next is that she keeps waking up inside a dream, within a dream, in a dream. Until it gets extremely confusing to distinguish between reality & actuality. The part that I uploaded is the end of the dream. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmgE8himhrs Mitra shoots her dead like Sundance did with Sumio Mondo. Since this was just a dream, Mika didn't actually die. Yet............... In the next level. Mika & Alisa meet up with each other to go shopping at Shimokira. However the bullet train that they took wasn't actually going to Shimokira at all. The train ride goes on forever & ever, until both Mika & Alisa fall asleep. (Her name is Arisa, but I spell it as Alsia, because that's how it's pronounced.) The game continues on until Mika is awakened by Mitra. Mitra gives Mika the power to hear people's hearts, thoughts & desires. I fucking hate this level, because you spend the entire level walking though out the entire bullet train listening to people's thoughts. (You can't skip them either.) The level goes on & on until you get to end of the bullet train. Where Ryo can be seen fast asleep. Mitra gave Mika & Ryo to each other. (Mitra took Ryo's consciousness, so Mika gave Mitra her own. In order to trade places with Ryo.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2N1Cuwr0DA When Ryo sees Mika in a near comatose, pupiless state. He tries to slap her out of it, but Ryo ends up fucking the hell out of her instead, lol. (I'm guessing that Mitra enforced Ryo's own repressed emotions for Mika against him.) Ryo broke the contract once he tried to slap Mika back to consciousness.. The contract to extend Mika's life with Mitra was nullified. when Ryo & Mika made physical contact with each other. As a result of that Mitra took possession of Mika, and she disappeared without a trace. Save for her puri kura's, & her Lupin the 3rd keychains. Soon after Mika went missing as a result of that. Mika's friends, Yukari, Chisato & Alisa went searching for Mika's current whereabouts from inside the school. The reason is because of all the school girl related deaths that have been occurring recently. Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPhttEGUo6w Do you remember all those naked organless women in Curtis Blackburn's mansion? Or Harman Smith being stuffed inside a refrigerator? In Moonlight Syndrome you actually see jars full of organs & pieces of school girl meat stuffed inside a refrigerator. One of the girls was actually cut up & sewn back together. Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_o7CidgTbs You know what else? The murderer was actually the principal. Unfortunately for him it was the night of a full moon. Yukari & the gang ponder if the principal also made a deal with Mitra. EPILOGUE (Practically the whole cast gets killed off in this chapter. Much like Silver Case & Killer 7.) The school was closed down shortly after the principal died, and Mika Kishi is still nowhere to be found. Yukari, Chisato, & Alisa gathered at the school during the night of a full moon. Their intuition told them that Mitra (The Silver haired kid.) will be at the school that night. They believe that they will have to kill Mitra in order to get Mika back. Ryo is slowly walking toward the school. His intent is also to get Mika back... Final level part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubFccEI0LZM Alisa confronted Mitra, and was killed by him. Final level PART 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AidEbcsIMzg Yukari waits at the 1st floor. What eventually came was Mitra himself. Chisato, who has ESP. Runs as quickly as she can to get to Chisato before Mitra does, but she's too late. Final level Part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iwc2KSi0mHc Ryo arrives at the school. What greeted him was Yukari's brutally mutilated body & Yayoi Itsushima. Ryo proceeds to the 5th floor where Mitra is at. Surprisingly enough... Chisato Itsushima still has some life left, and re manifests herself in a corporeal spirit form. (You can actually see through her.) She meets Ryo at the top of the school. They both pass by Alisa's dead body. Laughter can be heard in the distance. It's Mitra. Chisato tries once again, but is killed for good this time. Ryo Kazan is than left alone to confront Mitra. The boy who made him agree to a pact that would extend Mika's life span. So long as Ryo kept his distance from her. Mitra took Mika's life. (body & soul) When that pact was disobeyed. Final level Part 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY--tVVYmPc Ryo commands Mitra to return Mika Kishi. Ryo eventually cuts down Ryo piece by piece. Mitra warns Ryo that if he (Mitra) were to die. That Mika will also die along with him. Ryo kills Mitra This is Mika Kishi (The main character). She died when Mitra died. & than speaks to his dead sister (Kyoko Kazan) one last time. We later see Yayoi on top of the roof of the school pitying Mitra. Saying that she's sorry or some bullshit. (Mitra is on the ground with a katana stuck straight through him.) Final http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDwVMvqpOg4 Ryo Kazan is seen running & walking across a valley. He eventually runs into Mika Kishi. The two of them hug each other affectionately. After the credits roll. We are taken back into Ryo's room. Rumi is shocked to see Ryo laying there lifeless. Ryo is clutching on to a paper bag containing the severed head of his sister Kyoko Kazan. Rumi looks at the tv screen & sees Mika Kishi trapped inside. Originally this ending once said to be continued, but for some reason in my game it just says "Thanks for playing" (The original version of Moonlight Syndrome used to have blood as well.) Moonlight Syndrome is directly continued through the case called "Lunatics" in the Silver Case. Ryo Kazan went on a killing spree & was tracked down to an abandoned factory called Cauliflower. Rumi Touba is his accomplice. Rumi carries Kyoko's head for him. They both get shot to death by Tetsugoro Kusabi. One of the main characters from the Silver Case. END ---------- Overall the writing style used in Moonlight Syndrome was bit more straight forward than his other games such as FSR & K7. IMO, I kinda like Suda more this way. I heard that Suda formed GHM, because he was dissatisfied with the limitations imposed on him with Moonlight Syndrome. http://www.inside-games.jp/news/208/20898.html However I think Suda 51 makes more of an emotional impact when his story direction is more focused & less chaotic (Like K7) or less satirical (like NMH) I hope he uses this same exact writing style for that Fatal Frame sequel that GHM is in charge off. I just wonder how he'll pull it off though. Twilight Syndrome was a series that revolved ghosts & the supernatural. Moonlight Syndrome's horror came from the depths of the human mind, & the crazy ass shit that we're capable of. Moonlight & Silver Case are pure psycho horror. If Suda does decide to pursue a psycho horror angle with Fatal Frame. I just wonder how he'll do it. Considering that Fatal Frame wouldn't be Fatal Frame without the damn ghosts. P.S. Kitano, I'll answer your question about Sumio with my next post. I just need to rewrite my former posts in this thread first. I shouldn't have wrote about the story before beating the game, because it turned out that nearly all of my assumptions were wrong, lol.

Ryo Kazan - so that's the dipshit that gets shot repeatedly by Kusabi. I haven't really figured out yet what was he doing at the beginning of game... Ryo, I mean. I actually feel kind of sorry for him. This guy had to go through all this bull shit just to cling on to the remaining things in his life that he held dear to him. (Mainly, Mika Kishi.) When he finally lost Mika. (She first disappeared when he fucked her. Nullifying Mitra's contract that allowed Mika to live. She eventually died for good when Ryo killed Mitra.) Especially when you see the credits roll in Moonlight Syndrome, & you see Ryo & Mika reuniting & hugging each other & shit. Only to find out that it didn't actually happen. His reunion with Mika prolly ocurred in his head. In reality Ryo was really just sitting in front of his tv. Clutching on to his sister's severed head. His tv is still on, and we can Mika Kishi trapped inside it. (Just like the Smith Syndicate.) When Rumi walks in on Ryo, she gets all startled & shit. I'm guessing that she eventually cuts her hair like Kyoko Kazan in order to resemble Ryo's older sister & Mika Kishi. (Rumi doesn't llok like either of them. Although Toriko looks like she could pass for a younger Kyoko.) What's the purpose of all these "Sumio"? Touba, Kodai, Mondo? Sumio Touba isn't the same person at all. I just assumed it was, because I never played Moonlight Syndrome before. I figured that if Mondo turned out to be Kodai. What's to stop him from being Touba as well. I fucked around with every bodie's heads enough, and since FSR might actually come here. I figure that I might as well reveal the shit that I was saving for the website. Sumio Mondo is just Sumio's fake identity during FSR. However he eventually forgot that he's actually Sumio Kodai. That's why he's known as Sumio Mondo in FSR. Sumio Kodai & Tetsuguro we're actually on a joint assignment in FSR. Although Tetsuguro was searching for someone as well. (It's never said, but I assume that he was looking for Toriko. It's the logical guess imo.) Lospass Island is a man made island. The terrorist is actually Ed Macalister himself, lol. The airplane bombs were originally meant for Lospass itself. The purpose for the airplane bombs is to get rid of every bomb one by one, by having them explode inside an airplane. (& away from Lospass.) Tetsuguro Kusabi masqueraded as Peter Bocchwinkur. Peter Bockwinkurr was actually just a body/muppet suit that Tetsuguro was wearing. Sumio's memory of his real identity (Sumio Kodai) came back once Tetsuguro took his Peter mask off. I can't really tell you anything about Sundance & Toriko though. I just don't understand what they're about at all. Sundance is supposedly a native of Lospass. However Lospass is man made. Toriko thinks that Mondo is some kind of saviour. As for Yayoi Hanayama. I believe that her & Yayoi Itsushima are one in the same. Same facial structure, same build, same stature, similar hair line. Although if they actually are the same person. That would mean that Hanayama is only 18 or 17 years old. (FSR takes place 2 yrs. after Moonlight Syndrome.) I was always given the impression that Yayoi was in her mid 20's. Than again Yayoi from Moonlight Syndrome seems like she could've been 18 or in her 20's already. The only reason we know she's not. Is because her older sister Chisato was only 18. While I've always had Yayoi written down as a relevant character in Suda 51's games. I had no idea that she was actually one of the majour players. (Judging from her role in Moonlight Syndrome.) Kinda makes moi wonder when Yayoi will come back again. As to the reason for Yayoi's name change. Who knows. I'd say to conceal her identity, but in order for that to work. You would have to change your entire name. Not just your surname. Maybe she got married in between MS & FSR, and is acting like she's not married. She sure as hell does a good job of acting like nothing happened 2 yrs. prior during the Moonlight Syndrome game. You'd almost believe they were 2 different people if they didn't look & act the same. Yayoi was also capable enough to pull off the harmless normal person act In Moonlight Syndrome. When I first saw Yayoi threw some fireball or what not at her sister. "I was like wtf!? this bitch got ethereal esp!?" So, in Japan, such games get a natural audience, while here it's a niche. But of course, the sophistication found in Suda51's adventure games doesn't really need a niche to get appreciated, it's really common sense. ADV games are pretty popular in the West. Though only in the pc, and even then it's usually that Sam & Max bullshit , or that Sierra games crap that I hate. Speaking of Policenauts. I'm not sure where it got placed. I don't recall seeing it in the chart. That's not possible though, because when I was in Japan. Policenauts was actually still rather popular. It even got rereleased while I was there. I never once heard about Suda 51 at all. Save for his FSR game. I didn't think much of that game at the time though. I just thought it was weird looking as hell, and I eventually forgot about it. I wonder why Moonlight Syndrome ranked so low in that poll. Moonlight Syndrome is pretty damn good imo. I typically hate stories that revolve around teenagers. (If you're wondering why I like Persona it's because the Persona 2 games didn't revolve around high school kids at all. Innocent Sin had you following the trail of a Bible that was based off of conspiracy theories. Eternal Punishment had an entire cast full of adults who uncover a conspiracy by the NWO.) MS feels like one of them side story cases in Silver Case. In fact that's exactly how MS got treated like in Silver Case. Ryo & Rumi are treated like random hooligans in SC. You would never guess that Ryo actually had to go through a lot of bullshit a night or so earlier. Kinda like how I always envision Emir Parkreiner as popping in as some random ass killer guy. Although he already did that with NMH. I'm guessing the reason that Moonlight Syndrome fairs so poorly is because it alienated it's core audience. (Twilight Syndrome) Granted Moonlight Syndrome is in the same exact rank as Killer 7. IMO, I feel that MS is way better than K7. K7 impressed moi with it's political knowledge. (To the point that I eventually built a website based off of what I saw in K7.) However I prefer the atmosphere of MS. MS starts off as slow, & plodding, but the game gets crazier & more fucked up. The farther you get into the game. I also felt more of a connection with the characters. Well, not really with Mika. Mika just felt like a normal inquisitive, but naive hot chick. (Like Killer 7's Harman Smith, the real main character is actually Ryo Kazan. Although you only play as him two times through out the entire game.) The only reason I wanted to get Mika back from Mitra is because she's hot, and it beats having to look at Yayoi's sister all the time, or Yukari's big ass forehead. (You play as five different school girls after Mika disappears. Every single one of them dies including Mika.) Than again I hear that Mika Kishi actually is from the Twilight Syndrome games. (I've read that there's a shit load of fan service in MS from Twilight Syndrome, but I honestly can't what or who they are, because I never played those games.) So I'm guessing that most Mika fans would already know all there is to know about her. It's too bad that there are nearly 6 different Twilight SYndrome games out. So I have no idea which titles Mika was in.

Moonlight Syndrome's gameplay is indeed horrible (I've played too little, I'm the point where Mika is at her room and can't get out otherwise her mother's on her ass), but it does look decent. Is the creepy old man at the beginning that principal you talk about? A little aside, I'm actually happy for how No More Heroes turned out in terms of gameplay. Comparatively with other action games in the market, it sucks, but it represents kind of like a revolution for Suda51/ghm in particular. It shows that he's actually learning. Let's hope he doesn't get demoralized by the lack of success the game had in Japan, and actually sees the game as an evolution (in gameplay mechanics). Now, if he improves his gamplay further and uses it in service of a great adventure game, I'll eat it up. That would be like the Holy Grail.

Xed- 01-11-2008

I Finally got the game, tomorrow or monday i'm going to play it for good. Are you gonna do a complete plot summary or what else? I understeand only a few japanese so I think that without your explanations I won't understand what the fuck is going on in the whole game. Judging by the video you posted it looks like God to me. It's too bad that there are nearly 6 different Twilight SYndrome games out. So I have no idea which titles Mika was in. I guess that mika is in Twilight Syndrome: Search and Twilight Syndrome: Investigation, the only two of the series directer by Suda, but I am really not sure.

KIRBY 7- 01-11-2008

Shit, I want this book. Official document of Moonlight Syndrome According to this link http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~tamamo/talk2/013.htm#BOOK It's a Hand in Killer 7 style handbook for Moonlight Syndrome. Some book. (I don't know what it is.) Strategy guide (I used banner links, because amazon urls are way too long.) I guess that mika is in Twilight Syndrome: Search and Twilight Syndrome: Investigation, the only two of the series directer by Suda Hmm I'll look them up sometime. At least now I have a place to start. (I'm not planning to cover TS. I just want to have clear enough background behind the characters of Moonlight.) EDIT: I just realized that I already had the info up at K7 SIN,lol. http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/suda51.htm Moonlight Syndrome's gameplay is indeed horrible (I've played too little, I'm the point where Mika is at her room and can't get out otherwise her mother's on her ass), but it does look decent. The game isn't that bad. Granted I thought it sucked myself. MS just has a very slow beginning. The game picks up once the Moonlight Syndrome starts. (The 2nd disc) Although I believe that most people would give up either at the beginning or during the 3rd level. (When Mika gets kidnapped. The 3rd level is when the contract between Ryo & Mitra is made.) Which is why I compiled my save states into a .rar moonlightsstates.rar - 12.39MB It also contains my sin memory card. Be warned though. For some reason MS memory card saves don't function properly on the epsxe for some reason. So the MS memory card memory can only be used with other emulators BTW save state 5 is where I place the saves that let you choose your stage. Is the creepy old man at the beginning that principal you talk about? That's just the guy who saves your game. (He drops in from time to time wearing a young harman smith hat & suit.) It's too early in the game for anything of that sort to occur yet. The school girl murders don't even happen until after Ryo kazan breaks the contract & Miki Kishi gets taken away from Mitra. (She just disappears.) The longer you play. The more that you'll notice that the game changes in tone depending on the current phase of the moon. I noticed a sudden change in behavior during a crescent moon. The full moon is when all that weird ass Harman Smith/Kun Lan/ Heaven Smile shit starts to happen. In Killer 7 every single level happened during a full moon. Watch the videos I uploaded. This video shows you the principals secret room along with all the dismembered female body parts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_o7CidgTbs This is the principal Principal during the moonlight syndrome Now, if he improves his gamplay further and uses it in service of a great adventure game, I'll eat it up. That would be like the Holy Grail. Somebody seriously needs to show Suda a copy of Deus Ex. In order to show him how an interactive adv should really be done. I await for the day when Suda finally gets that combination right though. Especially if he uses it for the Silver Case. SC is the main hub where most of his stories take place. It would be nice to see it get the full Metal Gear Solid treatment. One of my main complaints about Silver Case is how the game goes into extreme detail about the firearms that each member of the 24 Ward Felonies division is carrying. It's retarded, because you don't actually get to use your guns throughout the entire game. (You do during cut scenes, but that doesn't count.) Are you gonna do a complete plot summary or what else? No, I too only understand a few Japanese. (I don't know enough to understand full conversations.) As far as plot summaries go, I'll only explain in detail about the relevant events of the game. I'll most likely just write up a more detailed account of the above posts that I made. You should get a general idea of what some parts of the story are like judging by the MS vids I've posted. I'll list them all here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLsFEzQcuf0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vE10ol1YGE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_-Bpmb_eCE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk1dn6vHn6I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY-JMFYw4KY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StgZtTXJm8M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdldHaXg40k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_o7CidgTbs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2N1Cuwr0DA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPhttEGUo6w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCpkVr3KzqI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOLEPYofbe8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxVziAPXwZg Final level part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubFccEI0LZM Final Level part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AidEbcsIMzg Final level part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iwc2KSi0mHc Final level part 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY--tVVYmPc Credits + True Ending http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDwVMvqpOg4

Actually I have a friend that perfectly read Japanese, but he's disappeared, it doesn't make him have been seeing online for months. If you find where to buy or download the two twilight syndrome, please contact me.

Suda is complete ass, he made killer7 in english with ties to all games in japanese(and most them old). Now this is serious bluff he pulled off, why to make story with main connections (bad and tv) to old games and not even english so we cant even grab the whole plot. Loose details, loopholes and all messed up just trying to make ppl feel good that they are solving mystery? specially online like drunkee? Not fair, absurd and not sincere, and the feeling is no different hatn those okami players feeling good by playing okami. Refernce is one thing, but main plot holes are based on past games. People who got K7 and played through all of it, didnt get story, what they paid for? they will be lost in their own self created fanfiction unless they somehow lurk online to know that game exists in jap , an old game in jap on ps1 that has same 'things' going on, characters belonging to past.

Kitano Smith- 01-12-2008

I really don't think that killer7 has plot points that are only understandable if you've played Suda's previous games. In other words, killer7 does not tie in terms of plot to previous games. At least not in terms of internal plot logic. It does have references, like the pulsating moonlight or the appearance of Ed McAllister and his reference to Garcian's briefcase, amongst a number of others but those are otherwise totally unrelated to previous games. The moon pulsating is just a fragment of Garcian's past, that represents the moment he left Emir behind at the UH rooftop. Ed McAllister's appearance is just so that you know that something's up with Garcian. How the hell does someone from that Hotel know Garcian if it's the first time Garcian ever enters the building? (this would be the right moment for a "...NOT" joke, but it's a lame one so I won't use it.... NOT!) The Ed McAllister/briefcase reference is either directed towards the japanese audience, or/and at the very least, an inside joke amongst the GHM staff. Nothing important that I need to know. The TV, with every persona inside means quite simply that those personas aren't even real people to begin with. It may or may not be a reference to Moonlight Syndrome, but who cares? It doesn't matter. I see all of those things as idiosyncrasies, if you will - not plot points. Now, those who really have a motive (not a reason) to believe that K7 ties with MS, SC, FSR, etc, is the Japanese audience, because of their experience with Suda's previous games, so they will naturally pick the similarities and thus even theorize about killer7's relation with previous games even if in reality there isn't one. As far as I know, the only thing outside the game you really need to understand to figure it out, is US<->Japan politics.

decoy- 01-12-2008

you know i invested so much thought on that tv thing, it seemd so out of place, and the tv was hallmark in sense you change character thru that, in many scene the person changes to other character, nuthing on other forums made sense untill now few days back drunke told that it was spirit chanelling device which made sense. gamers with just K7 in their possession will be lead astray easily with numerous loopholes, since these looppholes are taking screenspace frequently.
