I actually wonder just how common it is. I know there are a lot of drag queen sorts in America in some cities, but they never really look convincing. Then there are those 'female impersonators' you see on tv, who impersonate females or something. As a job, I guess. Not sure I really understand why they're paid to do that, since there are plenty of real women for whatever it is they do. As for Japan, I can't really say how it is on the streets because I've never been there, though I doubt you ever see guys like the ones shown above in the city.
