NMH 2 SUDA-51: I want No More Heroes sequel source

“Actually, I’m really willing to make a sequel version–and right now I’m asking if it can be made…I think No More Heroes is a great game, there’s no other action game like it for the Wii. If it was a band, it would be really energetic, like the Arctic Monkeys.” - Suda 51
OMG I gonna get a wii just for this game cus nintendo really don't give a fuck about mature games like this, like eternal darkness, so I want a wii just for suda and play killer 7
Fulgor- 01-16-2008
I hope it's for 360 or PS3

This aricle mentions 360 game with konami , so it would be snatcher on 360?
kojima playing double game, one xclusive for ps3 and other for 360.

Sounds sexy. (It better be a Snatcher/Silver Case collabo.)
I heard from Destructoid
(Not a reliable blog btw, but they are far more legit than kotaku.)
that Suda 51 is planning to abandon the Wii for the 360.
The Wii fanbase turned out to be way too casual than originally expected.
Most of the niche developers in Japan have chosen the 360 as their home base. So it's only logical that Suda followed suit. Since he too was a recent victim of the Nintendo Wii 3rd party syndrome.
(Nobody bought his shit, despite NMH being one of the only titles on the Wii that isn't shovel ware.)
Too bad the Wii is getting the la-*test*-('") Guilty Gear upgrade.
My favorite character Kliff is in it.
That badass hasn't been in a GG since the original came out.
P.S. Suda seriously needs to port NMH to the PS2. I'd cop the game on the spot if he did.
(NMH looks like a PS2 game in the first place.)

Hahaha it'd be great if Suda's sequel pitch gets the green-light.

Suda wanted to make this project on PS2 in the first place, but then Wada came saying that it would fit perfectly for the Wii, and that was a wrong idea.
Anyway, unless you make minigames or you are nintendo, your games will sell good on the Wii, but if you rather make a original title, this is the wrong console.

Guilty Gear:Accent Core has an American and Japanese PS2 release. It is also off the hizzy. Unless your talking about Overture.
Kitano Smith- 01-16-2008
I say that if he wishes to continue NMH, just do a completely different type of game.
While he's at it, why not port NMH to the PS2 and bunle it up with a few extras like RE4's PS2 port to piss off the Nintendo fanbase, heh?
kaxantrom- 01-16-2008
I don't know if it is the system but killer 7 was also released on ps2, it didn't sell
marketing maybe

That's a great idea, but that wouldn't make them aware of what did they missed anyway.

Kliff was in XX home version.
Most Wii gamers aren't interested in any real games except 1st party ones (the only one I like being Metroid). The games that sell are mainly dumbass minigame complimations. Shame, since RE4 and Red Steel (despite being mediocre) made it seem like the Wii was going to be getting some real games.

Actually the PS2 version did sell.

It sold much better than the Gamecube version did.

(Even I have a copy of the PS2 version.)
There's two clear cut reasons as to why.
1. PS2 has a larger install base.
2. Suda 51 already had a cult fan base on the PS2.
Most of his games were released on either the PSX or PS2.
The Kill the Past games were only released on PSX (Moonlight Syndrome, Silver Case) & PS2 (FSR, K7)
It just makes more sense to sell NMH on a console that already has Suda's core fan base on it.
Considering that the only thing really next gen about NMH is that you can do masturbation motions with your Wii stick.
(Not exactly the type of innovation that I'm looking for.)
I have an extra spare 50$ for NMH. In case I need to buy it for the website, but the problem is the Wii itself.
I'm still waiting for somebody, anybody to submit content to this site
http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/nmh/index.htm
The only page that's active is the scan page.
This wouldn't be a problem for moi had NMH came to a console that actually has games.
I can't picture myself buying a next gen game that looks like a half assed PS2 port.
Suda wanted to make this project on PS2 in the first place, but then Wada came saying that it would fit perfectly for the Wii, and that was a wrong idea.
Well, that explains it all.
Guilty Gear:Accent Core has an American and Japanese PS2 release. It is also off the hizzy. Unless your talking about Overture.
Why would I be talking about Overture? That game looks like straight up bullshit.
I'm talking about the la-*test*-('") upgrade Guilty Gear XX Accent Core PLUS.

As far I know it's not even out yet.
(Not until March 27, 2008)
The O.G.
My mind is going Dizzy for her hawtness
I say that if he wishes to continue NMH, just do a completely different type of game.
While he's at it, why not port NMH to the PS2 and bunle it up with a few extras like RE4's PS2 port to piss off the Nintendo fanbase, heh?
That's exactly what I was thinking of if Suda ever decided to make a PS2 port.
(He probably won't though, since he's not Capcom.)
If Suda does decide to waste more time with NMH I'm hoping that all three NMH games are completely different from each other.
Seriously though, Suda needs to drop this satire bullshit that he keeps pulling off, and bring on the fucking Silver Case.
The rest of Suda's so called "fan base" needs to see what a true Suda 51 product looks like. (Story direction wise.)
People need to see where Killer 7 sprang forth from. (Silver Case)
Instead what we get is Suda 51 pointlessly trying to cater to the Western audience with games that looks straight up Japanese like No More Heroes.
Currently this is what GHM's English fanbase looks like:
"I'm so FAN I bought Contact, Killer 7, & Samurai Champloo!" IM YOUR BIGGEST FUCKIN' FAN GRASSHOPPER!!! Although I don't really know jack shit about what GHM games truly present. The only true GHM title I've ever bought was K7, but that's ok I'm a whore & I love to eat up all your outsourced bull shit, because I'm so FAN!"
Sure we have some people who are like Xed, who actually take the time to immerse themselves within Suda's past games, but people like him are few & far between.
Every time I see a review where some schmuck claims "I'm a grasshopper fan!"
It just makes me want to shrug my head, because they seem to think that GHM is all about wacky bullshit that makes no god damn sense.
I consider myself a GHM fan, but I see them as the true video game equivalent of Art house. GHM makes just enough money to get by.
I favour GHM, because of their attention to detail in story telling & art direction.
Course the one person to blame for this misunderstanding of GHM's games is Suda 51 himself.
He tries way too hard to cater to what he thinks his Western fanbase wants.
(In retrospect NMH is exactly the type of stuff his Western fanbase wants, but that's mostly because most of us haven't been exposed to Suda 51's earlier more sophisticated writing style yet.)
When really what Suda should be doing is granting us the same respect (Stories that he actually bothers to write. Rather than ones that were just a joke.)
that he does with his Japanese audience, and finally make a game with the core Kill the Past / Kill the Life" themes intact.
I want a Suda 51 story (That's finally in English.) that's actually good, because of how well written it is.
Not because it's goddamn satire.
(K7= Political satire NMH= Video game narrative satire)
IMO, Suda 51 is another victim of this syndrome that Zen described.
I said when it comes to jap ppl they should not forget thier gaming roots for the cause of making west happy.
Kliff was in XX home version.
BLeh, I only played the first GG & GG XX Accent core 1.
I'm more of an old school Street Fighter, Samurai Spirits guy.
I normally de-*test*-('") Anime fighters that let you pull of all this wacky ass bullshit.
GG just happens to be a rare exception for moi. Mainly because it's the game that originated the crazy ass Anime fights concept.
Kroni- 01-22-2008
I may just wait for the price to drop (or for a sale) but if I do get it in the next few days I'll try to submit something. If not me, I'm sure mokoi could help...
