Looking good. I hope Topdrunkee actually likes this one, ha!
The blood geysers and decapitations look good!
I LIKE THaAaaAT!!(try to imagine this last line as spoken by the beta trailer Travis' voice, for the effect I'm aiming at)
GHM could spend a little more time with the game, I think. To fill up a bit more on the Sta. Destroy maps. Killer7 disguised the lack of things to do with the on-rails "system", and right out deny the player access to a lot of places and doors.
At least you could justify that with the -possible- notion that there's nothing to do on those places, so why waste time going there?
Wow, Shinji Mikami is a genius of a game designer but a piss poor storyteller and writer (RE4's dialogue and overall story is so fucking retarded that I actually feared I was losing brain cells while watching them. This game wished it had Troma's finesse in storytelling. But the game design and overall fun factor is so high that I was really confused about how such a masterpiece of game design had such a brainless story and pre-pubescent dialogue), and conversely, Suda51 is an outstanding writer and storyteller but a piss poor game designer.
They're like negatives of each other.
RE4... BAD STORY?! WTF are you talking about?! The wrighting was exellent! I mean c'mon! "No thanks, BRO!", "Saddler, YOU'RE small time!", and "I thought you'd be OK if you landed on your butt". I mean, c'mon!
You forgot the worst one: "Your right hand comes OFF?!"
No wait, this one's better yet:
"Where did they all go? BINGO?"
"Gah... WHAT?!" (this one was mine, after hearing the bingo line)
But your examples are bad enough to demonstrate exactly what I'm talkin' about! Maybe except for Ashley's butt line.
I've actually learned to accept Leon's cheesy one-liners as part of the charm, but damn, they're cheesy as hell.
The wrighting was exellent!
Now THIS one is genius!
Just j/k'n here, Mecha. :) (I'm actually a bit drunk right now, so sorry anyway)
Shot up, mai graamur are goood
Anyway, yeah. Leon is supposed to be cheesy. Like a stupid action movie. Which is a million times better then the old RE style of "Serious Buisiness".
