DAMN YOU J-HORROR DAMN YOU XD I've been giving Gozu an eyeing lately (whoo, cow-headed men). I found a shirt on a site that seems to be a promo for the film: http://www.toei-video.co.jp/data/gozu/ And after Wild Zero is done, I'm going to get Happiness of The Katakuris. And Audition tempts me too. Anything other Miike you guys can recommend? (Btw, you KNOW I want Ichi The Killer. Everything by Miike Takashi is worth a watch. But I guess you didn't pay attention to the IZO thread did you? You bring shame. GO WATCH IZO!

I like Ichi, Audition (is the ONLY movie that scares me!!!!!!), and ummm....Dead or Alive 2 is great! :D, plus Deadly Outlaw Rekka was all kinds of cool! :D Check those ones out! I have Fudoh but I've never seen it all the way through...although there's something odd about this girl and a teacher.....oh man, I don't even want to BOTHER explaining the....WEIRDNESS of that scene....wow......Miike is something else I tell ya!

Hehe, I FINALLY watched Fudoh today...oh man...it's crazy! The way that the four Council members die is all great stuff! And yes the girl who shoots the darts from "herself" IS indeed hilarious. But yeah there's a scene between the teacher and the hermaphrodite girl.....I don't even wanna go into that one. I'm not sure if I was supposed to be aroused or disgusted!!! I think this is the FIRST time I've EVER had this happen to me!! I felt odd...... :P Fudoh wasn't as good as Miike's other films but still it shows more originality than most movies out now anyways! I enjoyed it and the giant guy (Aizome?...something like that I think though...) was HILARIOUS!!! I loved that guy! Every scene he was in was great! :D Check it out, it's pretty cool. I got it for less than two dollars since I traded in some old game boy games for that. I was glad about it! :) A Miike movie for less than 2 dollars? GREAT DEAL!!! :D

Yeah I've seen each of hte films mentioned. Others that are really good include Visitor Q (which I want to hear from Topdrunkee about) City of Lost Souls, IZO (must I say this again?), Happiness of the Katakuris (really bizzare), Gozu (even more bizzare since this film has a commentary by Eli Roth, which will explain why Miike himself cameos in Hostel) Zebraman (a wonderful comedy), and Yakuza Demon.

Yeah Visitor Q had the milking scene in it. But I'd say that wasn't the only f-ed up scene. The stuff near the ending is just, ugh. City of Lost Souls was a great movie. I wish it was better known to Miike's fans. I had a hell of a time trying to find a copy before looking on the internet. Yeah Hostel is one wild movie. Its actaully classified as a sex/horror film. THe plot was also better than what I thought it was going to be. And Miike's cameo is just awsome.

Some places classify Hostel in the new genre of "sex horror." Brilliant. And yes there is alot of T&A. Dude you still need to see IZO. For the most part I'm not happy with the American traslation/remake of Asian horror films. THe Ring was creepy at first, but I wouldnt call it horrifying. More like a really twisted murder mystery. It really didn't turn horror film until the very end. The American "Grudge" I was okay with. Maybe because Sam Raimi brought it over here. I have seen both the original Japanese Ju-On and Ju-On 2 and I liked both films. I was scared by them at parts. And they are making Ju-On 2 into a American movie.

Umm....yeah. The Grudge....was TEH SUCK!!!!!! I'm sorry but the American remake of that movie was AWFUL!!!! The worst part is, it was directed by the SAME FRICKIN GUY!!!! I don't understand that so much.... I'd say because the film was more Japanese than American helped the Japanese version however there is no excuse for the awfulness of the American remake of it. I'm sorry. It's just bad. The thing is, we are NEVER going to see an American version of Ichi, it's JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! It won't happen ever. Boy wouldn't that be something! Audition is the ONLY movie that just totally FREAKS me out. And they couldn't remake it because it wouldn't have the same mood. Now if Miike made it, it'd be even freakier than the original probably. Although I don't see the point of remaking films ALL the time like they're doing. JUST because Americans are retards and won't watch movies with subtitles doen't mean you should waste millions of dollars making it AGAIN just to have it in English! That's completely STUPID and POINTLESS!!! I think that American's ALL need to watch movies in WIDESCREEN (like they SHOULD in the first place!!!). They shouldn't be allowed to sell movies in fullscreen if they weren't filmed that way! And if there is a GOOD movie, then it needs to be in its original language! Not dubbed over or remade so that it's in English!! I am going on a tirade so I'll stop now! Thoughts?

In the American Grudge, everything was right in front of you. All you had to do was sit there and look stoned. It annoys me that America are taking so many fabulous Asian movies and remaking them into what could potentially be crap. I'm not saying they'll all turn out bad, but yeah, as Jedilink said... JUST LEAVE THEM ALONE!

Well I've seen Audition (haven't found a copy yet...although I have a fake copy for now), have 1chi, and have Fudoh. I also have Deadly Outlaw Rekka and a fake copy of Dead or Alive 2. I likes em all! :D

Fudoh was really great, but GD, was IZO a masterpiece. Its easily his best work. Everyone who posted in this thread and the Ichi the Killer thread needs to see that film. Oh and the alternate ending to One Missed Call was brilliant, I was on my feet clapping hard after that.

What was the alternate ending? I watched it, but the DVD didn't have any alternate ending...
