Ouch. Funny how games that have tons of money spent on advertising never get anything lower than a 7 from most review sites and magazines, no matter how awful it is. In fact, games with the biggest advertising budgets usually get the best reviews.
*shrugs*

Yeah, I've been hearing a lot of complaints about the terrible AI in Assassin's Creed.. yet the reviewers still end up giving it a very high score.
I even saw a video that included some footage of the shitty AI where the main character was in his "Blend with the crowd animation" where he looks like he's praying next to two guards.
Well he walked up to one guard, killed him, then immediately went back into his "blend" animation and the other guard just walked by. He didn't even look at the dead guard on the ground and walked as if nothing at all happened.
Even the original Metal Gear Solid had better enemy AI. Sure you could kill one guard in front of another guard at a distance. But the other guard will see that something odd is happening in the distance and will walk over to check things out. He'll spot the dead or knocked out body on the ground and then call for a search alert. They'd also track your wet footprints or footprints in the snow.
Now, if a game from 10 years ago has better enemy AI, then Assasin's Creed should definitely not be getting the scores it is.
It also annoyed me how the game was ridiculously overhyped before release just because one of the producers happened to be a somewhat attractive woman(compared to others in the industry in the West at least).

Something i would like to point out what i did in all my 3 assassinations.
i used blend (in which altair goes in pray style), to get close to target , guards watch you and the indicator doesnt blinks if u are in blend mode, regardless you are in or out of pack of scholars.
Just go in blend, get near the target and use blade kill, and then run.
I used the same strategy for 1st 3 targets.
as soon as u will leave x button to go leave blend mode, the indicator will blink again, press the button again and the blinker will stop.
It looked ultra stupid.
Gameplay is frustrating and repetitive, i sold the game back to some fan , i will play pirate one on 360 later.
This game was jades creed , they put the chick infront as forerunner to sexup gamers and get attention, everyone got hyped and alas, game sucked.
Game got 7, subtract tight graphics and nice music and you have game of 4 to 5 rating.
Story of past arc is nice but the scifi twist of present is frustrating, and too cheesy.

I read every word in that review for Assassin's Creed that IGN had put up.
Now I'm no IGN fan boy but I usually trust some of their reviews, I mean they haven't really steered me wrong, and like every good gamer I use them strictly as a guide. I man they did bash the hell outta God Hand, which I of course, didn't agree with.
But their review for AC seems pretty accurate. I couldn't help but laugh at what they said about Altair's VO compared to the rest of the game's characters. The issues with gameplay are what else interest me. A buddy of mine got the game and he says their issues with AI is pretty spot on.
I also laughed when IGN talked about the "big pot twist." They didn't give it away, they said the internet did a good job of that already, but they felt that introducing a plot twist that big so early in the game is a stupid idea. So when the plot come to a part where the twist affects it, not only does it lose its effect, but is makes the story seem alien.
Killer 7 is full of plot twists, but for a first time play through you are totally in the dark for most of the game until the very end. Its only then when you replay and find out Travis called you (the killer 7) Emir, actually makes sense.
And I'll agree AC had one hell of an ad campaign. I remember getting the game informer issues that first featured AC. That "hot chick" was everywhere within the developer photos. There wasn't a single shot that didn't have her not in the photo, let alone in the center frame. I was watching a TV show on the FX network (its always sunny in Philadelphia) and for one whole commercial block (approx. 2 minutes) they showed an ad for Assassin's Creed. Well apparently the game was sponsoring the episode I was watching, and each commercial break was all about AC. Thats a lot of money to buy out an entire block of ads for one half hour show. In total that about 4 commercial breaks in one half hour episode and they each vary in length. Each break you get more AC. Total overkill.
Heh maybe I'll play the game for the hell of it, but according to IGN once you beat the game, you'll have no reason to play it again.

Just finished RE:umbrellachronicles on wii, what a fucking cool take on story.
It solidified and condensed all the story of series.
made a lot of sense.
Tight voiceacting, tight dialogues.
Tight scenarios.
If you are RE fan, you are in huge treat.
If you have been playing all re games including outbreak you will have more nostalgic moments and the story will be clearer to you more.
Wesker is so well developed now as one of most badass villian in gaming.
graphics are fine for such type.
Gameplay is something to get use too, i got tired after rebecca scenario from that point on only story dragged me to finish the game.
Now the game is finished i can sell the Wii.
music is composed by killer7 guy
here listen to kick ass credits tack and check his name also its ending so be warned , you will be spoiled

Game has such art pieces in many scnerios and they rock.
Dont they look like if they are made by SNK artist.
The same guy who did art for one of the gunsurvivor game.(the dinocrisi one)
moreover this^^ youtube guy has whole walkthrough of game uploaded incase you dont want to get gaem or wii but need story fix.

I recently finished Manhunt. The first one. Now I've started the second one, and I'm still playing LOADS of other games as well.
In Manhunt, the game is never totally easy but when you get to the last 3 or so levels, the game totally tears you up. I was going crazy almost. I played this one level for hours and when I had to stop to get ready for work, I was still in the EXACT same place I was when I started that entire play session. It's rough near the end.
And yes, Piggsy was aweome. ;) Although the ending was a little too short and wasn't satisfying enough. I mean, I'm killing dudes in super brutal ways throughout the whole game so when I finally get to the last guy, I just kill him and that's about it. Although I DO have a chainsaw which was pretty sweetness. ;) Haha.
KIRBY 7- 11-16-2007
I never thought much about Assassin's Creed. The game always looked stupid imo. I thought the main character was Tekken 4 Jin Kazama when I first saw him.
Although I'd like to point out that a 7 or 8 isn't a bad score.
Most of my favorite games were only 8's or 7's & I don't give a rats ass, because I know what I like, & what I don't like.
The only 10 rated games that I actually got into were Resident Evil 4 & GTA San Andreas.
Most other 10 rated games are just overrated bullshit. Granted GTA is overrated. What drew me to San Andreas was the possibility of seeing a next gen Fallout game using a similar engine.
(Fallout was doing free roam way before any of the console games ever did. Most real Rpg games are free roaming in the first place.
Dont they look like if they are made by SNK artist.
Shinkiro, he left SNK a long ass time ago.
I wish he was still with SNK though. I hate Fatcoon's bullshit art.
RE UC sure looks a lot better than I expected. I wish Killer 7 played like that.
I was watching a TV show on the FX network (its always sunny in Philadelphia)
Holy fuck. I love that show. The episode when Mac screws that one guys mom was f'ng hilarious.
(Shit she's like in her 50's, but she's still a babe.)
I only saw the first two seasons.
Have FX made any more yet?
"That's politics bitch!" is one of my favorite punch lines of all time.
Killer 7 is full of plot twists, but for a first time play through you are totally in the dark for most of the game until the very end. Its only then when you replay and find out Travis called you (the killer 7) Emir, actually makes sense.
K7 was written by a guy that I think would be better off writing movie or manga/anime scripts rather than video games. I have a feeling that Suda will always remain cult within the videogame industry due to how immature us gamers actually are.
The Kane & Lynch review at gamespot graded the story low, simply because there was no good guys or anti heroes to root for.
(IMO, anti-heroes are sissys. They don't have enough moral integrity to operate on the side of good, and they ain't badass enough to be a bad guy.
Video games need to stop it with the Anti hero bull shit.
Comic books have already matured passed this stage since the late 90's Why can't video games do the same?)
Shit, Sin City had no heroes either, but most people agree that it's at least a decent crime story.
(Course this is just me bitching bout how us gamers want every single story to be a tale about good vs evil. God I wish us gamers would grow up some time.)
In other words, few people within the video game industry have the talent necessary to pull off a plot like Killer 7.
With K7, Suda used a lot of clever methods to obscure the story.
(Double speak, red herrings, Propaganda. Most people get completely confused by K7 once they get to the Alter Ego chap, because it's full of a shit load of misleading propaganda.)
Never played Assassin's Creed, but I bet the plot twist was presented in a straight forward matter.
(Which is typical for a video game. Video games suck at story telling.)
What is the plot twist anyway?
I heard that the world of Assassin's Creed is actually set in the future or some shit, & that they're actually in some kind of virtual world like the Matrix.
Or something like that. I first heard about it when that hot chick from Veronica Mars blurted out the plot twist by accident.
Whatever the case. It sounds like the same stupid plot twist that was in Star Ocean 3. (The cast of SO 3 are actually a video game, inside a video game, who rebel against their creator who made the video game.............)
And yes, Piggsy was aweome. Wink Although the ending was a little too short and wasn't satisfying enough.
IMO, that entire level is the ending. If manhunt were made into a movie, I could imagine it ending the same exact way. That would've been a brutal ass ending too, had the graphics not sucked.
That Pigsy fight keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I just started Sunny in Philadelphia a few months ago because of the recommendation of a friend, it's fucking awesome. The third season's got some great episodes, like "Dennis Looks Like a Registered Sex Offender. "You're taking the heat while I'm in here watching the Disney Channel."
KIRBY 7- 11-17-2007
I love the comptroller episode. Shit was hilarious.
"You have to be a real low-life piece of shit to get involved in politics."
It cracks moi up how Mac kept mistaking politicians for the Sicilian Mob.
(It's funny, because in a way. Governments are structured somewhat like a mafia.)
"THAT's POLITICS BITCH!"
The smear campaign calling Dennis a "baby rapist" is pure gold.
Another episode I liked is the one that referenced myspace.
When Devito found out that another man was screwing his fine ass ex wife.
"Devito: How the fuck do I get into contact with that fucka?
Mac: You uh,have to add him as a friend first.
Devito: I don't want to be his friend! I want to fucking kill him!!!"
Danny Devito:"It's been two days & nobodies added me yet.
I only have Tom & the crazy women who sez I made out with her 10 yrs. ago.
Mac or Charlie: Um, Tom kinda like comes with it."
Lisker- 11-17-2007
That shit was great, the show has so many classic lines.
Dennis: Frank, we don't need the chainsaw. Is that what's in that bag?
Frank: Oh, we do...because drawing a confession out of someone is like doing a beautiful dance...a beautiful dance with a chainsaw.
True Grave- 11-19-2007
I loved that episode! Especially when the killer come in the apartment, and it just ends with Frank reving up the saw!
I love the episode "The Gang Solves the North Korea Situation" episode. The whole bit with the duster coat was great. I have a duster myself and I had to laugh.
But my fave recently is the episode where Dennis and Frank become "cops" They go to a junk yard to buy a junk yard dog, but the guy only has a cat.
"That cat was born in a pool of gasoline on a sheet of rusty scrap metal! That cat, (laughs) is indestructible!"
Instead they find an old cop car and drive around, pretending like they are cops.
Charlie: "Why are we stopped?"
Frank: "Because its a red light"
Dennis: "We're in a cop car dude"
Frank: "Make her sing!"
*fires up the sirens*
But to talk on topic real quick,
I just finished the mess that is RE Umbrella Chronicles. While the gameplay is pretty decent and the graphics are slick on the Wii, the whole story arc over the RE games is a huge, disappointing mess. First off they skip RE2 and RECVX. Two games that had TONS to do with Umbrella. The new story that is added which puts Chris and Jill into the main headquarters of Umbrella, IMO, was trash.
But this shouldn't shock me, Shinji Mikami's name is no where in the credits.
Yet there are a few redeeming characteristics. Wesker gets 2 storylines to explain more on him, and my fave character, HUNK (Mr. Death) has his own story as well.
RE Fans should play this, because the game is total fan service, but the most of it should be taken with a grain of salt.

Finished Uncharted.
Been playing masseffect along with it.
Technically uncharted is amazing, 360 has nuthing on this game, even after 3 years of 360, ps3 first year game kicked 360 ass hard.
The geometry is complex, hardly any loading in between gameplay, it looks outstanding on HD, music is too good, and sound is unbelievable on surround.
Story and characters are topnotch, though the story is
typical treasure hunt, but the execution, presentaion that rocks and keep you immersed throughout.
VA, mocap is unbelievably good.
There is fucking twist at the end levels, which made the game even more interesting.
Animation is strongest part of the game.
Animation is nextgen for me, not plasticoating or rendering, which other games strive for.
Masseffect runs at 30fps, with slowdown, and texturepopin issues, it looks incomplete, the graphics do look good and all but when they move it all comes down.
Nate(hero of game) is most believable, likeable and natural hero in any game, even surpassing lara, snake etc.
This game is must play , and my gameoftheyear, yeah its that good.

I couldn't care less about Uncharted.
I'd only care if it were called Uncharted Waters.
UW was such an innovative game that it still has a loyal fanbase even to this day.
http://www.unchartedwatersnewhorizons.com/
(The last game that was translated into English was made way back in 1992. It's unfortunate that most of the fans in that website have no idea that there are actually 5 Uncharted Water games in existence.)
I'm starting to lose all interest in video games. (As if that needed to be said. I'm always complaining in every single damn post these days.)
I'm not impressed with anything that I've seen at all for this
"new generation."
It's the severe lack of originality.
(I'm not saying that Uncharted is unoriginal. I'm just speaking about games in general. As for Uncharted, that looks like an upgraded version of POP.)
It pisses moi off how most of the new "blockbusters" are just the same old shit we played on the xbox & ps2.
Only difference is that the games are bigger, prettier & shiny now.
(Watch a damn pixar film, bitches.)
I don't give a damn about how realistic a game could get.
If there's one thing that Koei did right, it was that they knew that they could keep people coming back to their strategy games, because their strategy games have way more playability & gameplay options than the majority of the shit that I see out here now.
If the next generation of gaming is even more uneventful than the current one that we're on now.
I swear, I'm going to quit gaming altogether.
The only games I need are my old Capcom, & Koei classics.
Note: By Koei I'm referring to the games that stay in Japan such as...
Koei: Nobunaga's Ambition, Romance of the three kingdoms, Uncharted Waters, Aerobiz, Genghis Khan, Taiko Risshiden, Zill O'll, etc.
Masseffect runs at 30fps, with slowdown, and texturepopin issues, it looks incomplete, the graphics do look good and all but when they move it all comes down.
I've been looking forward to Mass Effect. (Not really.)
I do love Bioware's old school games though.
(Baldur's Gate,Bladur's II, Neverwinter Nights. I'm actually playing a hack n slash/sexually explicit style mod of Neverwinter Nights right now.)
Their console games suck ass though, because everything is dumbed down for the console audience. (Mass Effect looks to be the same exact shit. Not as dumb as Jade Empire, but not as good as BG II. It looks like Kotor version 5.0)
Nate(hero of game) is most believable, likeable and natural hero in any game, even surpassing lara, snake etc.
LOL. Lara Croft is just a boob.
How did she get put in the same mantle as Snake?
(Although I don't like Snake much either. He's way too naive.)
This game is must play , and my gameoftheyear, yeah its that good.
Which game Uncharted or Mass Effect?
decoy- 11-22-2007
Uncharted of course , my GOTY.
Spoilers ahead
Games like uncharted are hard to come by.
Its new fresh IP , a really wellcrafted work.
Its no POP btw, the main gameplay is about resi4 +killswitch, + you can run and gun + you can perform brutal melee combos like yakuza+ vibes of tombraider+soulreaver+silenthill+ico.
you must be like wtf, silenthill
this is fucking twist in later levels.
Tough i should have expected it, if you dont know game director is amyhenig, she is the woman behind LoK, soulreaver1,2, defiance and jak3.
You are descedant of francisdrake, and looking for trasure , in later levels you confront francis body zombified and then you face creatures(took me by surpirse).
They are spaniards been converted into things , coz of curse.
The statue releases the curse, like pollination going inside the body.
It will sound typical but again i would say its flawless exectution that makes it not only refreshing but also alot believable.
Specially the reaction of characters like nate, when they encounter them.
Its not like snake or chris, who feel nuthin on surprises.
They take 70% game to build believable environments, setting and characters, and once you suck in they throw this supernatural stuff at you, making it believable.evrysingle thing contribute to eachother.
climax is not good, but again its that way for sequel.
After quality titles like this cod4 and halo3 and darkness its becomes too hard to digest medicore work of other games having huge production values, like the crap assassinscreed.
Masseffect makes you fool, thats what i didnt like.
Same planets with different color schemes.
One has grass, one has snow, one is lava, one is desert and you get my point.
animation is clunky.
I am more fond of jap cyberpunk than american take.
Like i love GITS, twilightmaster, cybercity, adpoilce etc type of futuristic presentation.
ME feels too westernized.
Story is good, i wish if they had made this adventure game, like dreamfall.
They went into details of adding pressure, gravity of differetn plaents but most of them has same species, like a worm popping up everywhere which look too unatural and stupid.
Uncharted has addictive gameplay to boot, i missing the game already, i wanted it to go on.
And sound is unbelievably good, get speakers for it.
This game is also HD worthy.
drunkee you seem to have been limiting your tastes.
Not open to accept anything will only limit you more.
