I just beat final fantasy crisis core for the psp. It was pretty good. I liked the main character zack more than cloud. He's more confident which is better the ever so emotional cloud. The gameplay is decent. It tends to get boring sometimes. As for the graphics pretty good for a psp game although i have to say god of war has out done it. The leveling was odd since it relies on a slot machine to determine whether or not i level up. But overall its a great rpg among whatever else is on the psp. Its pretty short to i beat it in five days but then again i ran through it since i don't have that much time anymore.

Got few games on consoles and ds
condemened sequel is heavy dissapointment, i loved first part but this one lacks too many things specially the atmosphere, the scares are cheap, the main character and his connections with rosa is totally redone, it all feels detached.
Lines are super cheesy, and game is too dark with graphics not up to present gen games.
vegas sequel is another cheap effort to make cash, too mcuh of repetition.
army of two is crap too, too muh crap to handle, games effort wasted.
Burnoutparadise, good for fans, but more of the same old refurbished ideas.
Its burnout undergound edition actually.
I should have picked Lost game instead , atleast it has nice exploration.
DS games ruled on other hand, and its all classic stuff
Bangai o sprits ,is work of genius.
it reminde me of temblepop, snowbross, and contra
etc. awesomeness into one pack.
Graphic are almost nothing its gameplay and mind game, too addicitve.Oldschool at its best
Also playing dawn of sorrow, and half way thorugh i am liking it more than Sotn , there is more gameplay content, and soma soul snatching and moves are countless. Too bad boss fights arent many and not as good as PoRuin or Sotn nor the music is that good.
Ninja gaiden is great, i like the decisions, prerendered backgrounds, the artworks are really cool whcih tells the stroy in manga fashion, the gamelay is addictive, and actually it kills the dialed combo problem of console version for good.
And Timehollow, best adventure game to hit DS, high production values, anime cutscenes which outclassed anime series animation , music is great , gameplay and story is great , i loved shadowofdestiny too.
I am playing it in jap in depseraton, coz i cant wait for year like layton, i remember i finished layton year back, i mean fuck localizaion.
If anyone has anylinke to guide for timehollow or yakuza kenzan let me know.
KIRBY 7- 03-24-2008
I'd prolly have a guide for Yakuza 3 if I owned the game.
(I don't bother to look up shit if I don't have access to the game.)
You could always just ask for guidance at the gamefaq boards.
That's were I went for the first 2 games. Peepz at the import yakuza boards are pretty helpful.
Granted I didn't need much help in the first place, but I know for certain that there will always be at least one person who is willing to help you out.
Provided that you lurk at the yakuza boards during the first 3 months of its release.
I saw a guy named decoy at the Kenzan board. I'm assuming that was you, heh.

Yeah it is me.
i wont e getting game till end of next month.
And i dont want of end up being stuck, atleast should end the story mode.
I want to have insurance of guide so that my money wont be wasted, coz i am paying full this time for jap game, i am THAT big fan of the game.
Also my pal who is bringing the game form hongkong, i was wondering if i can ask him to bring yakuza 2 too,coz its cheap, but someone said that you get majority heat moves by doing side quests so it will be chore wihtout jap knowhow.
I wonder if jap yakuza 2 faq on gfaqs covers all.

I feel the same about Condemned 2, decoy. I think they changed too much when they didn't need to. The new fighting is pretty good, but it's like they sacrificed atmosphere and story for it. Which would be ok for some other games, but when the atmosphere of the first game was the most memorable thing for me, it doesn't work out. I did like the boss fight in the doll factory though.. especially the kill at the end. And the surprise at the snow lodge was pretty cool.. wasn't expecting that bear to show up.
I played a little of Vegas 2.. yeah I gave up on UbiSoft games a while ago. All of their "sequels" feel like full price expansions.. especially when they're all released only like a year apart it seems.
Kroni- 03-25-2008
I haven't played the condemned games, though I'd like too (heard the first had a good story.) I like semi-tactical shooters, so I end up following ubi alot, but those sequrls do play the same (I was so glad I rented GRAW 2.)
I just beat RE4 Wii edition, and I realized that I really like RE4. You get do much in the game (pretty long story mode, mercs, assignment ada, seperate ways) and some of the funnest gameplay I've seen in a long time, I also liked how the weapons were pretty balanced.

I think the only thing that you would probably need help in is the mini game where you pretend to be a host boy.
(You try your best to wow all these hot chicks into giving you cash.)
I never bothered with the mini game myself, because some of the girls that you need to hustle are near impossible to convince imo.
Yakuza's level system is a bit different in the sense that you can slightly alter/customize the way you want your Kiryu to fight.
You can either make a pure brute force fighter, or a more agile counter/technique based fighter.
Either way Kiryu still fights like a clumsy ass thug.

It wasnt confirmed earlier but now sega europe is releasing yakuza sequel this year, so i will wait but that makes kenzan localization to imagination.
Jedilink- 04-25-2008
Well, I just finished Metal Gear Solid 2 the other day. Not nearly as confusing of an ending as many people said it was. I mean yeah it was basically, "Everything is a conspiracy and everything having to do with THAT is a conspiracy too!" but oh well. I understood it.
And while I know you lament positive comments about MGS storylines Topdrunkee, I enjoyed it well enough. Much better than the majority of American movies I'm seeing in theaters nowadays! I ended up looking at that game as an interactive blockbuster movie basically. I've been playing through MGS3 now the past few days. Going crazy waiting for GTAIV to come out. Only 4 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah come on. Why does everybody over simplify why I don't like MGS plots. You've seen the MGS 4 thread right? I do own, & beaten every single MGS game that was reeleased on the PS2.
It's ok to like MGS for its story. So long as you liked it because you thought it was entertaining. I hate on the stories, because the games have dumbass bloated narratives that try way too hard to appeal to the gamer's emotions.
You do realize that I don't like MGS because they remind me of blockbuster movies.
I don't like hollywood blockbusters. Chances are I'm not going to like a video game that pretends to be a blockbuster movie either.
I don't like MGS for one simple reason. MGS games rely on too much overt Asian style melodrama.
Basically it feels like I'm watching some pretentious ass anime or Asian movie, where everybody cries for 40 min. straight, & then the enemies start telling you their life problems before they die.
In my head I'm like "take that shit to a friggin' therapist".
When I kill somebody in a video game. I just want to see them fall down dead. Not bore me to death with their life story.
Seriously if MGS used a typical big eyed, triangle nose, big head Anime art style. I'm willing to bet that everybody would be hating on MGS for the same reasons I do.
Horrible dialogue, & too much corny ass melodrama that would even make a Korean Drama proud.
IMO, most people just don't notice how goofy & animu MGS is, because the MGS games use a serious art style. (Instead of anime.)
Even the Yakuza games are contaminated with this Asian obsession of pointless melodrama, & everybody crying talking about their emotions in order to create the illusion of complexity.
I could at least put up with the goofy melodrama in Yakuza, because at least the bad guys die when they're supposed to.
On top of that, Yakuza's baddies usually stay dead too.

Heck I didn't say Hollywood blockbuster. :P Just like some big budget movie. I don't know. I enjoyed the story and all. It's not making me weep blood or anything over here but it was enjoyable. I love Otacon's whole....mother lovin thing. :P Haha.
As for me right now, I'm playing through GTA4. So awesome. I'm sure some have played it, but MAN it's soooooo cool. :D I love the characters, the story, the way that missions can intersect with normal gameplay (like how you'll get a call to do something and the mission has already started by picking up the phone). Plus the whole thing is just so darn prettyful. I ALSO love the fact that Niko is (in my opinion) the most interesting and coolest main character the series has ever had. Not so "ghetto" dorky like CJ was. :P I loved the opening hours to San Andreas by the way, but CJ was out of place with his "Boyz In The Hood" thing going on all the time even when it wasn't needed.
Niko is just much more interesting. He's a tortured soul but not a whiney spiked haired sack of a man like so many Final Fantasy heros. :P Haha. He takes life as it comes and is a very wise man through the harsh conditions of his life. He's not a fool, not too super straight laced, but still fun enough to goof off too. Plus he is a bad mutha when you get one of those sweet double breasted suits in Algonquin.
I'm sure you've heard all this crap, but I can't say enough good about Grand Theft Auto IV. Really. It's WAAAAAAY better than Halo 3 and is one of the best games to come along in a long while.
ferlanga- 05-19-2008
I just finished Earthbound, and its very odd in some ways
Lisker- 05-19-2008
Beat Resident Evil Survivor with all three endings, not as bad as people say, really.

You can read my impressions in mgs4 thread i guess, i have written very positive and lonbg about it.

My girlfriend and I went to this pawn shop the other day and I bought Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game Of The Year Edition, Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic, and Jade Empire.
The one thing that really ticks me off is that NONE of those games have a widescreen mode on them and the only tv I have is an HDTV! So! I have to lower the resolution down to 480p and stretch the picture with a function on my tv. There's this weird thing it can do where it streches the image to fit the screen but the middle isn't stretched so far so people don't look so fat and goofy. Although I STILL wish these ones had widescreen modes regardless. I mean The Thing for Xbox had one and it came out a couple years before Jade Empire...so why doesn't it have one then? Oh well. :P
More huge RPG's to steal all of my time away from me. Haha. :)
