Should we replace the forum?
The spam bots are a lil' too out of control... Ever since K7 SIN moved to gamespy, I've had the ability to use the in house gamespy server to host the forum. (With gamespy servers I can finally post bulletins the way they're suppose to be done.) I could also use custom scripts for the title ranks, or use blood vials to rank each individual member. The main reasons why I have not used my resources at gamespy are 1. I'd have to code & configure the forum myself. (The current one that we're using uses basic pre made scripts. The problem is since this is a php forumer board I do not have access to many of the options that are available for higher ranked forumer forums.) 2. I have a lot of info that I wrote in this forum that could prove to be useful for insight later on. Most likely whenever I feel that I need to double check something for quick reference. 3. Moving to the new server means starting all over. Everybodies stats is reset to zero, and has to start over again. Plus everybody including my self would have to re register for a new account. 4. Unlike this forum, the new one would be hosted on the same server as the main K7 SIN site. Meaning if someone where to hijack the forum. They could easily hack into the website, & mess up all my goddamn work. 5. We would have to get rid of all the oversized sigs & avatars. (This mainly refers to Bob the dark one & I.) The Cons: All of the above The Pros: More profesional lay out & service.
