Well Topdrunkee was mark on with the references that K7 makes for Quickgirl. Regardless of the game, Quickgirl is still a must watch. Its just freaking ILL. I just can't get over the ending, wonderful.

Damn part-nah I can't wait to see this on dvd. No f'n commercial breaks! When ever I get me a copy I'm going to extract the Quick girl file & upload it on Youtube. The best damn hitman thriller/film noir satire I've ever seen. (It's also the only one I've ever seen.) I love Quick girl it's a big inspiration to me. (With it's excess of style & originality.) It's a sad shame Quick Girl is always ignored,because everybody is too busy laughing at the overrated Fuccon family & Oh Mikey! ADV did it! They just released VPN vol. 2. It contains series 3&4 of VPN. So I finally got to see Quikgirl all the way through. And it was ILL. I found it at Best Buy in the anime section for $15.99. The best part of Quickgirl, or at least a damn cool part was the very end that Top didn't mention. Man I'll keep it quiet just cuz it rocks. In fact Erika is featured on the cover, right after she gets her neck cut. Pretty wild. Oh and that car Erika drives is an Alpha Romeo Quadrifolio (sp?) Spider. And where did Mary get her Vet? LOL. Eh? there was actually an extra scene after Erika walked out of her Alpha Romero (long ass name) & threw her ice cream cone to the ground? It may have seem like I did that on purpose,but I really didn't. That scene must've been added on to the dvd release. (I recorded Quick Girl to a vhs on channel 274 when I was living in Japan.) Ima have to send you a pm,cuz I want to know what happens in the end. (I'm guessing Mary came back to life as a Zombie or some ish hah hah,or Lina was actually a badass cyborg the whole time,which could explain her systematic cold blooded killing style & her ability to scan her suroundings lol...) Watching four scrumptious women exterminate each other & every body that got in their way is hilarious & ILL as hell. Dark humour at it's finest. ILL is definitely the word to describe Quick girl. When I first played Killer 7,Quick Girl was the first thing that came to my mind. (Moody techno,cool chracters,over the top violence,dark humour. When I got up to the part where Linda Vermilion makes an appearance...I was like damn I know fo' sho that Suda has seen Quick girl before. Linda llooks just like Mary. (& mary looks just like the Lady Scorpion.) i was also reminded of Tokyo City Drifter (Mostly for the lighting in the alter ego stage),but the Quick Girl references were more prevalent. NOW TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED IN THE END PART-NAH!!! Heh heh heh... I thought the part at the end where Erika suddenly makes roadkill out of Mary was a big enough twist. had no idea there was another. (Aight I have it figured out Erika's head fell off at the end didn't it? Damn I'm just coming up with the most random ish that I can think of,because like K7...you never know what's going to happen next.

I loved it. It definetly provides me with insight and hope as a film student. Easy to make, especially with no dialouge. And the soundtrack was so awsome. It sounded so much like Killer 7. I loved the track that came out once Erika got knifed. Oh and Mary used a Franchi SPAS 12 to blow apart those thugs in the beginning. And one of the salary men used a Mauser Military to off Lina.

Ah man talk about random. That has to be the most unexpected ending ever conceived. To think I changed channels right when that part came up,because I assumed nothing interesting would happen. (The gameshow part of Quick girl looked like every other variety show that you see in Japan,but I guess that's part of the joke.) If I had saw that part in it's entirety I would've mentioned it as another Quick Girl reference that K7 alludes to. Both properties have extended endings within their shows/games. K7 had at least three,Quick girl had two. The whole Union Hotel scene with Garcian Smith gunning down the K7 could be considered a homage to the Quick Girl game show scene. I'm going to have to make another quick girl file 7 page,just so I can add that ish in. (I need to get the dvd first though.) Damn I'd be thinking that Lina would've pulled off a tougher fight though. I'm kind of disapointed in her,because during the skit they build Lina up to be the ultimate contender that will eventually face off & kill Mary. She's exactly like Dan Smith. Both are crazy over the top badasses,but they both get killed in a rather embarassing pathetic manner. Hah hah Mary pulled off a female Kiriyama Kazuo. I mean she's the real female Kiriyama,Mitsuko has to rely on her charm & sex appeal...Mary is just a straight up KILLER. Kind of makes me wished that K7 used their Linda Vermilion ( pleasure night ) character more. It's now quite obvious that Suda 51 has indeed seen Quick girl, the similarities between the two are uncanny. Hah hah and to think I saw Vermilion Pleasure Night on a friggin japanese porn channel hah hah. I loved it. It definetly provides me with insight and hope as a film student. Same here,I'm planning to be a writer & character designer. When I saw how much story & direction Quick girl pulled off without a single word of dialogue (Besides Erika's yelps as shes gasps for air.) I swear part-nah I was impressed. Quick Girl managed to be hilarious,cool, & thrillling all at the same time. Geah that song after Erika's throat gets slashed was Lina's theme. (Since it played through the whole Lina rampage part.) I love how the bass starts out Ima try to hum the beat out on the keyboard heh heh. Lina theme Der,deh,deh der,Deh!... deh deh der (Repeat x infinity) 1 min. into the song some creepy piano solo accompanies the background beat. 1:20 min into the song during the part Lina is using her scan ability random synthesized siren plays over the bass & the piano. After Lina slaughters three citizens at a mall a computerized techno beat replaces the synthesized siren. Damn I need that dvd so I can rip that badass song out. As badass as Lina's theme was I have to admit the 70's techno Quick Girl theme sucked ass,but I think it was suppose to suck on purpose. (After all the Quick girl theme was also Erika's theme.)

Yeah, after all is said and done I wish Linda Vermillion had more screen time. I mean I now she sniped Christopher and all, but man it would have been ILL to see her take out some smileys or show a past hit of hers. That Quick Girl ending was so fitting. And I really thought it was funny. Pulling a huge D. Eagle outta nowhere just made me laugh. I guess thats the typical anime style though, pulling a huge gun outta no-where. Man they did that in Versus too! The two cops had that anti-tank rifle that the BADASS eventually shot everyone with.

That cop in Versus was hilarious "I have 10.ooo time faster reflexes than Mike Tyson" The Versus badass fires the anti tank rifle while the cop tries to lean back & dodge the bullet Neo Matrix style except the cop fails & blows up. The other cop was funny as hell too. "I'm not left handed!!!" More info about VPN well actualy it's about the Fuccons,but the page goes in depth about the Fuccons origins which is VPN. I'm guessing the reason why Fuccon & Oh Mikey are so popular is because they have more universal appeal. (Both skits star Americans represented by mannequins.) I even saw The Fuccons the other day on that lameass videogame channel G4 Tech Tv. http://www.animefringe.com/magazine/2005/01/special/04.php I saw Quick Girl way back in 2002. I was wondering why they never made any new episodes since then. It seems the director pulled the plug on VPN. Wonder why though,VPN was popular as hell. My two fave skits were Quick girl,and some other skit about some woman trying to wash her clothes at a laundry mat. The laundry skit was filmed entirely in the Matrix slo mo bullet time effect lol.

Yeah I'm going to hunt down vol. 1 now to check out some of the other stuff. I really wish they had made more Quick Girl episodes. I mean it is the reason why I bought VPN in the first place. Oh do you have the 2-disc Versus? Well not the Ultimate Versus that I hope gets released in USA. Well they had a skit on the 2-disc called NERVOUS and it followed the two cops more. Really funny too. And G4 is way lame. I hate it now. Its less on video games and more on star trek. Interesting swtich...and that Attack of the Show is nothing more than glorified stereotypes making fun of stereotypes. Yeah quality TV...

Just to say my thoughts on Vermilion Pleasure Night, its probably one of the most bizzare things I've ever seen outta Japan. IZO is still really-really bizzare. For episodes 1&2: The Fuccon Family is funny at parts but I can see why you say its overrated Topdrunkee. I laughed to see that Juvinille Delinquent Takako almost follow the same idea. Ah, Cathy's House is ridiculously funny because its so damn out-there. The first sketch was better than the second IMO. Dr. Phero is really, really, REALLY weird. The second sketch on that was better than the first. One Point English made me laugh. She could speak english pretty well. I liked the second sketch of that more, also. Other than that, the rest was interesting to see. The music in some sketches is really catchy and fun, i.e. Cathy's House (first sketch) I still have yet to watch the rest of vol.2 and I hear that ADV will be releasing vol. 3.

Overall my fave skit was Quick Girl, obviously. It was the only one that I bothered to record. I think they had a skit with Yin Ling of Joytoy. (The erotic assassin from Suda 51's Michigan.) I understand that it's suppose to be a parody of Japanese game shows,but I ponder what friggin' game show is it mockin? When I was in Japan the game shows were tight as hell. They usually involved asian or white chicks with ginormous racks. Hell I even uploaded a vid of one at youtube feat. Anna Ohura. I'm looking forward to VPN vol.3 coming out in October. The cover for that one is the DR. Phero girls injecting a butt. That was a way weird skit. But very catchy music. The music for that skit, cathy's house-its a wonderful day, and the polyester group song sweetheart are all great techno/electronica tracks. Wish there was a soundtrack for VPN out. And I can't believe the Fuccon Family has their own shows on DVD out now. And its all dubbed too. Xplay is a horrible show. All it containts is one sex joke after the other. Sometimes its pretty funny, but its tiresome. And I do not think Morgan Webb is hot at all. I used too, when I first started watching G4. But man her voice is annyoing, ESPECIALLY when she takes that sarcastic-know-it-all tone.
