I know that game is somewhat of a "love it or hate it" but after he played it for a while he literally broke it in two because he didnt like it ("enemies are all the same" and such)That's fucked up, and people wonder I complain about games & gamers all the time. It's because of behaviour like that that we're constantly stuck with all; these games that pretend to be movies.
If he's a casual gamer than I suggest Warriors Orochi 2
http://warriorsorochi.co.uk/
which is coming out next month.
IMO, the warriors games are the best games to go with for most casual/non serious gamers.
They're (way too) easy to pick up & play, and they make good party games.
If you want a co-op game that can easily pass the time, than warriors games are where it's at. They're nothing more than level grind hack n slash fan service games.
You could always get him Final Fantasy XII anniversary edition.

That game is so fucking long, that the game will last you an entire year just to beat.
If all else fails you could always go with a sure thing like
Soul Calibur 4, (Or SC 2, & SC 3 depending on what systems he owns.)You could always get him Final Fantasy XII anniversary edition.Funnily enough, he has that game and hates it with a passion. He can't bring himself to play it any more.
