Yeah well, my problem goes a bit further than that:
I didnt fully get the controlls themselves.
I know how to move and look up/down
But that was it.
How do I interact with things?
Im in the very first room in "Lunatics" which seems to be some kind of tutorial, but since i havent the sligh-*test*-('") idea of japanese it isnt very usefull.
f.e. i come to various spots called "contact points", and one is at the same time discribed as "controll panel" above the green cp-symbol.
If i look down there is something like a pda. How do I interact with the environment?
And whats up with the "implement" function.
If I choose it, I get a pictrure of a gun in the down right corner with some numbers but nothing happens, no matter which button I press.
IN short: I need an english written manual, if you dont bother :(

But that was it.
Since you're having problems with the way the game controls.
I guess you've already experienced that the control system is somewhat similar to the one used in Killer 7.
Although SC's control scheme makes much more sense.
To walk you press the d-pad in which ever direction you want to walk to, but you can only go to where the dotted lines take you.
In order to run you have to hold down the triangle button.
To bring up the wheel I think you press the x button.
This brings up the functions such as SAVE, IMPLEMENT, CONTACT, & Move.
Fun fact: Flower Sun & Rain is actually mentioned during the decoyman scenario when Kamui escapes from asylum and starts going on a murder spree.
You use Contact whenever you want to speak or interact with your background.
Since you're at the begining of the game.
I guess it's safe to assume that you have Inomata (The shit faced coward.) and Sakamoto (The bearded guy) in your entourage.
Your playable character is not pictured at all, because SC is played from first person view.
What you see is what the character you are playing sees.
Implement is basically your item inventory. Only some items are directly related to the gameplay & plot.
Don't sweat it too much though, because most of the items are only there as decoration, or used as circumstantial evidence at the scene of the crime.
Save only works during save points.
f.e. i come to various spots called "contact points", and one is at the same time discribed as "controll panel" above the green cp-symbol.
If i look down there is something like a pda. How do I interact with the environment?
Contact points are usually the part where you use the implement function.
And whats up with the "implement" function.
If I choose it, I get a pictrure of a gun in the down right corner with some numbers but nothing happens, no matter which button I press.
Don't even bother with the guns. That's the biggest weakness of the SC games imo.
They go through all this trouble just to tell you want kind of model each character uses, but you don't actually use your fire arm at all.
You only use your gun during cutscenes.
IN short: I need an english written manual, if you dont bother :(
I haven't played the game in a long while so I'll need to replay again for a bit to refreshen my memory.
I am going to take the week off just to finally update this site.
I'll try to document some of the basics of silver case sometime this week.
BTW, you already know this, but I'll say it anyway.
To look up & down you press the left & right shoulder buttons.
You're going to need those buttons when you infiltrate the mall to rescue Tokio Morishima during the first real mission of the game, decoyman.
(The Lunaticcs case is just a Moonlight Syndrome epilouge.
The guy with the bushy hair, & the gun is actually Ryo Kazan from Moonlight Syndrome.
He wasn't always crazy. I think he finally lost his sanity after he killed one of the Mithras, which in turned killed Mika.
It's interesting imo to see a character who you once played as to be reduced to a mere gun toting murderous thug.
It's interesting to note that Mika Kishi was only a supporting character in the Twilight Syndrome games. The only reason she's a main character in MS is because she's the one who has been cursed with life under a Mithra contract.
The contract was made by Ryo in order to extend Mika's life. Who was killed by a rapist.
Yukari Hasegawa was the real main character from the two Twilight Syndrome games that Suda 51 wrote.
She's also the main character of Moonlight Syndrome after Mika Kishi goes missing.
Or at least Yuakari was the main character until she gets cut up to pieces by Mithra in the final Lunatics chapter of Moonlight Syndrome.
The main character role then switches to Ryo Kazan. Ryo sticks a katana straight into Mithra, making him look like some little kid shish kabob.
Ryo returns during the Lunatics chapter in SC, and goes on a killing spree.
Ryo is eventually stopped when he's gunned down by Rumi, who in turn is shot in the face by Tetsuguro Kusabi, because she failed to comply with a direct order.
Tetsuguro constantly yelled at Rumi to put the gun down, but he just shoots her in the face anyway. (She failed to comply, because she seemed scared shitless.)
IMO, her death was unwarranted, but this is the reason why I love Silver Case. It's so friggin' dark.
Tetsuguro & Sumio are supposedly the heroes, but they're just goddamn homicidal freaks with a badge.
The main role then switches to you, Akira.
(You actually get to name your character. Akira is just his default name.)
Since Akira represents you I'll have to say that the main character role was actually adopted by Sakura Natsume, Tetsuguro Kusabi, Tokio Morishima, & Sumio Kodai.
(Well actually I think Sundance Shot & Toriko Kusabi could be considered main characters as well, although they operate more behind the scenes.)
Emir Parkreiner, Kun Lan, & Harman Smith assume the helm for Killer 7.
Emir would most likely be portrayed as just some random killer in the Silver Case setting.
Which is exactly how Emir was portrayed in NMH. Or so I thought...
Kun Lan & Harman imo represent the mysteries, & conspiracies of the SC setting.
The SC setting itself is just an expansion of the Moonlight Syndrome universe.
SC is the main setting, and games such as Moonlight Syndrome, & FSR are merely isolated small scale conflicts that take place in the SC universe. NMH would be included in the isolated incident files as well if NMH were considered part of the same universe.
(These games are small scale compared to the bigger scope of the conflicts in SC, & K7.)
The case of the Silver Case murders that happen 30 years before the SC game starts is also considered an isolated incident, but the majority of the games events are all reactions to what happened during the night of the Silver Case assassinations that was originally ordered by Sundance Shot, and then turned into a conspiracy by the Hachisuka family.
In order to enact a smear campaign that undermines Sundance's authority.
The SC cover story did such a good job that it caused Sundance to lose his political clout & forced him to go underground. We don't finally meet Sundance until FSR.
Rumi is Sumio's sister, but he's not the same Sumio Kodai (Mondo) from SC, & FSR.
Sumio Touba does look like Sumio, but I think its just a coincidence.
The reason why I'm positive that Touba, & Kodai(Mondo) are two completely different people is because one of them was just a high school kid who was killed in a double homicide by a jealous ex girlfriend.
The other Sumio from SC/FSR is a detective/terrorist.
Moonlight Syndrome happened during the same year as Silver Case. (1999)
Sumio Touba is only 18. Sumio Kodai is 22.
(24/25 by the time he returns in FSR under the Mondo alias.)
I got a lot of heat for this comment. A shit load of Suda 51 fans at youtube were pissed off at me when I said this shit.
Luckily Killer 7 fans can rest assured that Suda 51 has claimed that Elmer was just a homage, and not actually Emir.
Which is retarded imo, because that kinda spits in the face of what happened to other returning characters from Suda's previous games.
Why is it that only Emir has a look alike who gets killed, but everybody else is actually a returning character who reprises their role?
Lunaticcs is one of the main reasons why I thought Elmer from NMH actually was Emir, because Rumi & Ryo from SC are the same characters from Moonlight Syndrome.
They're not actually named in SC. You just know they're the same survivors from Moonlight Syndrome because their apperance in SC seems to be a direct continuation & abrupt end of the Moonlight SYndrome storyline.
Finally
I haven't heard any official word on whether or not she actually is Yayoi from Moonlight Syndrome.
She does flirt around with Sumio the same way that Yayoi flirted with Sumio Touba from Moonlight Syndrome.
I believe that the two Yayoi's are obviously the same person, because Sumio Mondo, & Sumio Kodai are the same person.
He went by Mondo, because he forgot that Mondo was just his undercover persona. He forgot his true identity Kodai, and goes by the name Mondo throughout the entirety of FSR until you finally run into Tokio Morishima again.
If this is indeed the ame Yayoi then I'd like to say that it's interesting how she does a good job of passing herself off as normal.
You'd never guess that Yayoi in FSR is actually a spiritual medium who can shoot fireballs & shit.
In fact there's even one scene in FSR where Yayoi gets poisoned from a spiked drink by one of the guests in FSR.
So it makes it all the more surprising that Yayoi was actually a bad guy who worked alongside Mithra during Moonlight Syndrome.

Hey there guys,
I didnt get much opportunity to play the game but now I have a further question:
I now got how to interact etc.
But how do i solve the puzzles.
Im still in the first room in the game and theres a pda-like thingy, and there i can slide some Japanese characters and on the bottom there are
2-Digit codes like D F or A 6 etc. each time i choose another jap character. What do I do?
I dont want to sound ungratefull, but the list of codes you posted doesnt help me right now :?
korg- 08-09-2008
its been a while but iirc you take the top characters in front of every door on the other floors, then find the corresponding characters (like B6) using the one on the ground floor, then input them into the doors and they open
Tyler_Denton- 08-10-2008
To be more specificly:
I am at
24 Ward/Area E3/Cauliflower/1F
And the control panel is on the northern most side of the room.
I first entered "D2" and then "A6" like it is written in Topdrunkees first post, but nothing really happens.
Did I do something wrong or what is the concrete name of the code?
Spellbreaker- 08-10-2008
Ah, I remember this part myself. I got stuck there, too. If I recall correctly, there should be an elevator door in the easternmost part of the room.
You should be able to just go through there, without having to enter codes. I think that control panel is the big clue panel that lets you decipher all of the other codes, not actually one you put a code into. The actual panels you put codes in come later in Cauliflower, and for those, Topdrunkee's codes will work.
Tyler_Denton- 08-10-2008
Well, then something is really fucked up, since whenever I try to use this elevator, the guy with the big moustache says something with an "1" at the beginning and an exclamation mark at the end.
And nothing else happens :(
KIRBY 7- 08-10-2008
I don't get it. Where exactly are you? Spell & korg both did a convenient break down of what you're supposed to do.
(In chronological order what you should do is follow what Spell says & then proceed to follow Korg's directions.)
Has Inomata left your entourage yet? (He's the guy without the mustache.)
Have you found the manga magazine on the floor that's located near the elevator?
Really the only thing you need to do in the first floor is pick up the console (pda thingy) and walk into the elevator on the far right of the first room.
I have no idea what the problem is.
IMO, most people usually get stuck when you have to type in the passwords for door 4.
Door 4 = D3B3B5DCD8B6D6
Open Door 4 again = D3B3B5DCD8B6D6
Open Door 4 with console = CADEB2B1DDBBD4B6
Which is cipher coded.
All I have to say is that the game is smooth sailing once you finally get past the Moonlight Syndrome epilouge. (Lunatics)
and the first two levels Decoyman, & spectrum.
After that the only level that you'll might get stuck in is the final level Lifecut for the Transmitter cases.
Tyler_Denton- 08-11-2008
I now got it for now, I just missed out another contact point, sry for getting on your nerves for now
Spellbreaker- 08-11-2008
It's fine, I'm sure. Just wait for Decoyman! It took me almost forever to open that stupid gate.

Oh, I'm not annoyed at all. Sorry about that.
I may sound stern, but that's because my speech is typically blunt & straight to the point.
Now this thread is what I look like when I'm annoyed.
