Wanted: Fluent Japanese to English translator
Sure I have skill to get by, but I need an individual who's fluent. I'm having some trouble with some of the main story arcs from both FSR & Silver Case. Mainly the "Shelter Children" "spirit syndrome", & the "Snake Lily" To be quite frank, translating is way too time consuming,but somebody has to do it, and I can only go so far. Just look at this nice piece of dialogue... "Do you ..".. know such a word?' ..'.. The answer is in Camui. Camui is not here. Camui is neighbors. It only peeps at Camui. ?? " This is how I re wrote the above statement. "Have you ever..".. heard such an expresion ?' ..' .. The answer is in Kamui. Kamui is not here. Kamui is our population. She only cries Kamui. ?? " It's still not very good,but at least it makes more sense. I need a tranlator to dechipher all these e-mail files that I extracted from the Silver case game discs.

I can speak some but I do have a Japanese teacher how teaches me,he could possibly translate. He's also Japanese. So I'm just offering.

I was planning to update the Silver Case website by wednesday,but I got too lazy... I can speak some but I do have a Japanese teacher how teaches me,he could possibly translate. He's also Japanese. So I'm just offering. If you feel up to the task here's a simple job that you can do. (Ah screw it, I tried to make a thumbnail,but it wouldn't show up so here's the full sized pic.) Translate these names into english. It's half finished already,but feel free to make corrections as you see fit. (I'm pretty damn sure that I made at least 4 or 5 errors.) BTW how good is your nihongo? You need to have coherency that's at least more competant than my own. The concepts that I'm having trouble with in Silver Case & FSR are some pretty deep & complex ish. Both the concept of the "shelter children" & "spirit syndrome" were borrowed by Killer 7. Emir Parkreiner's role is superficialy similar to Uehara Kamui's role in the Silver Case. Uehara Kamui is eventually explained as a killer with multiple "stocks" (Orphans "Shelter children") to store his body in. Like a Ghost in the shell, except Kamui is not a cyborg. I won't bother to ask your teacher, since he/she already has a job. The translation work that I would like to have accomplished is the type of work that most translators get paid for, and suffice to say I ain't going to pay nobody hah hah. I'm not asking for a few transcripts to be translated, the pngs that I extracted from the game disc are about 225 mb big. (Most of which consists of E-mails sent to Tokio Morishima during the "Placebo" portion of the Silver Case.) So it's going to take somebody with a lot of free time & effort to get the whole archive translated. I already have more than enough info to make a full fledged web site out of Silver Case, I just decided to take a break,because building websites is a tiresome endeavor. Plus I figured that I try to go all the way with the Silver Case website rather than the half assed job I did with FSR. Other than the detailed background story for Sumio Mondo, (Most of the Sumio info came from Moonlight Syndrome & Silver Case.) I pretty much neglected everybody else in FSR. No matter what my limited japanese still can not comprehend the Toriko Kusabi & Sundance plot. It's a sad shame too since they're the two most intriguing chracters in FSR. Actually, I know three Japanese people.... Technicaly you know four. My surname is japanese. Though my ethnic makeup is ambiguous at best. (I'm supposedly Filipino, although my last name & appearance would tell you otherwise.) I'm considered part of the "mixed" category even though both of my parents are asian. (Most folks assume that I'm part white,but who knows maybe I am somewhere down the line. I'm just an unknown variable hah hah.) (I wish this forum had a spell checker,coz my spelling is ass.)

Ok I've translated a few. I have a book that translates Kanji. 1.Kobaya Shibikaru <-(The only part I translated with his name.) Enzawa's name I think is really 2.Shimopira Ayame 3.Kouchi's name is Sugita Kouichi 4.Kyouska's name is Kousaka Michiru. 5.Monori's name is Furuya Tomonori 6.The guy to Tomonori's right is Esosawa Kaitsu 7.The guy left of Kousaka is Sakakuchi Taikichi 8.Hachizuka is Hachisuka Kaoru 9.Kaidai is Kai Zaisawarou. That's all of the one's that were blank or incorrect that I've had so far, if there is anymore I will let you know as soon as I can. Oh and for these I did not need my teacher's help, but if there is any I can't translate I will send it to him.

Well my original teacher turn's out to be in the hospital,so... I'll just have to ask one of my other friends,but I'll check with them,though my teaher did offer to help but I haven't heard from him since.I'm still trying to translate it so I'm just trying to translate it when I have free time,but I will find out then report to you when I get it.

Heh heh sweet, the chart thing was only up there as a -*test*-('") though. I was wondering if y'all are ready to translate the png files that I have extracted. Now that's the thing that I want/need translated most. I need confirmation whenever y'all are ready. It's a rather big file (395mb +), and I need to spend time to extract all the individual png files to a .rar. Though y'all don't need to hurry or anything. I myself have been delaying the updates that I have planned out. (I'm currently in the beta stages of planning some fanmade K7 game.) I probally won't update until next week or by the end of the month.

I guess I forgot to do that,but looks as if everything else on the chart is good,just gotta translate the group name. And I think I could do the next task.

Well this may take longer then I thoguht aparently I let the book that had the kanji on it to some guy and he apparently hasn't returned it so,I'm gonna have to get it back,but when I do I promise I'll get on the last part.

I don't really need you to translate the relationship chart. I can do that myself. Since I already translated more than half of it, although with some minour errors. (besides the chart is mostly in katakana, so it's not that hard to read anyway.) Although by all means feel free to complete the rest of the chart as I have no idea what the chart to the right is saying. (The one that says 24 prefecture/ward) What I do need translated is that big 300+mb winrar file that I keep talking about. It contains all the e-mail files from the Placebo reports of the Silver Case. I don't even want to bother with it,because it's too complex. Hence the need for translators such as yourself. I don't understand enough Japanese to fully comprehend the intended meaning in the Placebo reports. (I can only loosely understand the literal aspects of the files. Which suffice to say, doesn't make much since unless you're familiar with the nuances of the language. Of which I'm not.)

Well the kid never returned it but I was able to get some of my Japanese friends to write me a long list of Kanji into Romanization so I translared the group name and it's Iranifu but I'm ready to translate anything for you, unless you need anymore from this chart. I'm also sorry it took so long.

Sorry for not replying in a timely matter. I had no idea that you replied to this thread. You know I was double checking the translations & it turns out that we both made a shit load of mistakes. Doesn't really matter though. I'm not re translating the chart, because the (English speaking) K7 fan base don't take this site seriously. (So I've decided to be less strict when it comes to accuracy.) Lord who knows why. K7 SIN is one of the most enlightening places I ever seen when it comes to dissecting Killer 7. My guess is because K7fans would rather stick around in familiar territory running around in circles rather than venture into the bigger world called "Kill the Past") that Killer 7 encompasses. I just can't make sense of the lyrics to F.S.R. I mean WTF is she saying during the main hook? Although F.S.R. is one of my favourite songs of all time, I still have no bloody idea what she means when she sings do-wo-ka. (Over & over & over & over) Maybe you'll fare much better.
