When I first heard about this movie. I was like NO!!!! Not a sequel to "The ONE" (Jet Li/Jason Statham) The One was one of the worst movies that I've ever seen in my life. However this movie looks like it might be as visceral as the only decent American Jet Li movie ever made (Kiss of Death) http://www.lionsgate.com/war/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_%28film%29 What really sold moi was the casting for this movie. They got Kane Kosugi up in this. The guy who's always teaching little Japanese kids aerobics. (Except he speaks to them in English, lol!) They even have Ryo Ishibashi. (The guy got his foot sawed off by that chick from Audition.) Whoever the casting director was I applaud them for actually getting actors that match their roles. While I could do wtihout Devon Aoki, at least she's a better casting choice for a crazy Japanese yakuza chick than Ziyi would've been. (I had no problem with Lucy Liu in Kill Bill since she matched the role that was written for her.) Any woman that I would've thought of in place of Devon wouldn't be able to speak English anyway. (Although that didn't stop Chiaki Kuriyama in Kill Bill. I heard that Tarantino was planning to cast both Kuriyama and Kou Shibasaki http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&um=1&hl=en&safe=off&q=Kou+Shibasaki&btnG=Search+Images from Battle Royale, but Shibasaki never answered the request.) To top it off, they casted John Lone up in this. That cat is badass. (He's the bearded guy on the left.)

Sounds pretty cool, don't know too much about the plot other than it sounds pretty similar to what's been done before in movies like The Killer, with the cop & criminal being at odds with each other before teaming up against a bunch of bad guys. I haven't heard anything about Jet's and Statham's characters teaming up, but it's obvious. I know nothing about who's doing the directing, writing, or action sequences, so I don't know what to expect, though I was still interested back when it was called Rogue, because it's a Jet Li & Jason Statham action flick. And this time the guys from the Final Destination films aren't involved, so how can it go wrong? I liked Kiss of Dragon as far as the action scenes, but the story was downright painful at times due to how boring it often got, Luc Besson's been losing it lately with disposable action flick screenplays that I wouldn't use as toilet paper. But I liked Unleashed a lot more, which I think was Jet's best American movie, even more than Kiss of the Dragon. The action scenes were great, though I think I liked Kiss of the Dragon's a bit more, but the story was way better in Unleashed, it got a little cheesy at times, but it had a lot emotion and overall thought put into it than Luc Besson's other works as of late. It had some interesting characters too, with a great performance by Bob Hoskins, who I still think was a great Mario regardless of the movie itself, and this was easily Jet's best role in any American movie he did, since the quiet and reserved Danny almost seemed like it was written for him. Plus I loved the way he fought like a dog, going after one guy and not stopping even after another starts hitting him from behind. And in The One's defense, it was still a million times better than Jet's following film, Cradle 2 the Grave. That was such a piece of shit. It wasn't even really a Jet Li movie. Hell, it seems like DMX's stuntman got the most screentime out of anyone.

lol, they tryed to make it seem like DMX could be a match for jet li. All it showed him do was knee some one , like, 50 times. As for unleashed, that movie was awsome, but coulda been way better if they woulda put in more of jet li goin bat shit crazy and whoopin some ass. any details on wars plot? I REFUSE to go to wikipedia, lol.

So has anyone seen this yet?

I was just thinking that myself. I'm too uncertain about it. Besides I'd rather see Death Sentence before this.

Anyone know a litlle movie by the name of DEATH TRANCE? it literally stomps every other action movies ass. anyway, Tak sakaguchi(the lead role) was injured during filming and guess what? THEY GOT JET LI TO DO THE FIGHT SCENE THEY WERE SHOOTING turns out that tak is one of jets good friends.

WHAT?!?!?!? DMX didn't do his own stunts?!?!?!!? *faints immediately!* And as for Death Trance...I don't know if any action movie can really beat the INSANE ACTION extravaganza that is Versus...although I DO know that Death Trance was directed by the fight choreographer for Versus though. I DO wants it a lot. Haha.

i have versus and death trance, and death trance is WAAY better (not that versus is a bad movie though.) Tak sakaguchi actually hits the actors in this movie, and at one point had to go to a hospital cause of a broken rib. He doesnt use martial arts in this movie, he just beats the shit outta evryone. oh yeah, hes got a sword that he keeps sheathed all the time except in 2 scenes. the blade is actually a barrell. GUN BLAAADDDDEEEE!!!!

FUCK NO is Death Trance better than Versus. Hell the fuck no! Yeah, yeah, its an opinion, but c'mon! Versus is better in every way possible! More violence, more blood, more gore, more guns, more babes, more bad-asses, more wild Japanese action, especially in the Ultimate Versus edition. Beside the androygenous priest that helps Tak out in DT was a huge freaking loser. Plus the ending was lame.

He has no tatoos. Unless they were in areas where I dared not look.) I just wonder what a convo between Tak & wide nose Jet li is like. I either imagine them speaking broken ass English, or speaking to each other through macho stare downs. He doesnt use martial arts in this movie, he just beats the shit outta evryone. The best parts of Versus was the zombie fights Especially with all the added Devil May Cry influenced scenes in ultimate Versus. The only thing that I hated about Versus, was all the inane dialogue. They just kept on talking & talking about some random bullshit. I honestly wouldn't mind just watching a bunch of random fools ripping each other's heads off for an hour. . When I watch porn that's all I want them to do. Hit skins. All those damn intermissions in Versus are the reason why I class Ninja Scroll higher than it. (Ninja Scroll actually had a decent plot.)

I haven't watched it because I haven't seen this or Shoot 'Em Up in any theaters. At all. I just can't fucking find them. They're not even playing them anywhere. They finally put a movie in theaters I'd bother seeing, two in fact, and they're nowhere to be found. I guess I'll just wait a couple months for the dvds. And they wonder why they're losing money at the theaters.

Yeah when these COOL lookin movies are out, they're never around here in my town. In fact, they only had "Hero" (with Jet Li) at the theater in my town for only ONE DAY. ONE! How am I supposed to know the exact day when you can't even get them to tell you what movies are going to be there when they're released?!! It's like asking a retard about quantum physics.

Everywhere I've been has been playing Resident Evil though. Wonder why it's the #1 movie in America when they're only playing other movies a fraction of the time.

yea, not too long ago shoot em up commercials were playing like crazy, and that movie is nowhere to be found. same with war. what gives? I REEEAAALLLY wanted to see shoot em up. i have a sneaking suspicion ima have to kill a mother fucker.
